What's the hip (video) "all in one" codec pack to use nowadays?

In the 2008 era I installed K-Lite which worked awesome (Winamp plays everything, I prefer Winamp classic due to its look and light load I've experienced). In 2009 my laptop exploded and I got a new one, but the K-Lite codec pack didn't want to co-operate. So I put CCCP which worked, but I discovered that the latest version is 2009, so it's ... way out of date.

So 2010 now, which pack do you all use and can recommend? I know I can just easily use Media Player Classic/VLC for all my video playing needs but I prefer Winamp for the small stuff (clips, short movies etc).

One weird thing I discovered last night was I removed Quicktime from my machine, and MPC failed to play a .mov file with sound, only video was present. Only when I installed Quicktime back was there sound -- I thought MPC/VLC were "all in one" kinda packs ... :\ ?

CCCP, which comes with MPC, is what I use. The 09 version isn't actually that bad, but if you want a more up to date version: http://www.cccp-project.net/beta/Com...2010-05-21.exe

I personally play anything that has video on mpc, and anything that's audio only on winamp.

    K-Lite. http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
Been using it for over 10 years now and never had an issue with it.

I'll try K-Lite again I guess when I stumble into my next issue. I guess at the moment except the quirky Quicktime thing that had me confused which is why I started looking around, it's not truely an issue (yet). Downloading it onto my stick for now, might test it on a spare machine.

Shouldn't fix something that's not broken I guess or I might spend hours trying to fix it lol

Combine the K-Lite Codec pack with KMPlayer and you won't need to ask this question ever again.

EDIT: Reread OP: Just use K-Lite since you like to use Winamp/WMPC/VLC. KMPlayer is just a personal preference.

Thanks, I actually have KMPlayer too but forgot about it. I use KMPlayer specifically to "rip" parts of the movie out but that was a last resort also to view anything else that won't usually play.
