lolPS2 help

Im not sure if this is the right area to post this but it didn't seem to fit anywhere else, mods feel free to move if necessary.

So I know ps2 is sooo 10 years ago but its all I have right now and I'm trying to get it back up. The only problem is that my ethernet has a 10 character password, which I have, but I don't know where to plug it in at the network settings in POL viewer. I'm obviously not good with this sort of thing but I tried the IP adress, but that doesn't take letters, so it doesn't go there, and it allowed me to put it in the host name but it didn't work. I know this is probably a simple fix but thanks for humoring me and for the help in advance~

Want to say there is a disc that came with the network adaptor that allows you to create network profiles on the ps2.

Pretty sure POL on PS2 used its own network settings and ignored the usual file the other games used, otherwise they'd need you to have a memory card inserted to retrieve said file from.

Thats what i thought but i dont know where to put the password at in POLV. And if its not the case I also put in the online start up discs and it gave me the same options as POL, so either way itd be in the same spot or whatever. Anyone know where the password gets plugged in?

On the screen in POL before you pick an account to log in, there's a Network Settings option. You punch information into there like you do on a computer to configure a broadband connection. It should all be self-explanatory once you get into that menu. There's not a lot of menus on the screen before you log in anyway, so just poke around.
