    The Ending [SPOILERS]

What the hell? I am not sure I understand what happened.

Vanille and Fang fusioned into Ragnarok and ran across the world (Cocoon) into an erupting lava pit, and then froze the pillar of earth from Gran Pulse that was going to hit Cocoon or collide with it or whatever? Then somehow everyone was on Gran Pulse now?

Maybe I missed something, what was everyone else's take on the ending?

^ Pretty sure that was an illusion to try and piss Fang off and make her turn in to Rag. Like how Bart supposedly shattered Dajh/Serah.

I wish once you beat it you could watch all the FMV because I just completely did not understand it one bit. I get that they turned into Ragnarok, but wouldnt them fucking like...going into the core of Cocoon fuck it up and kill millions of people living there? And what the fuck was that crystal thing they made? And does Vanille/Fang holding hands mean they were lovers or family or WHAT? UGH! I dont get it

When Serah and Dajh came out I did cry a little though, that was nice, even though it made no god damn sense.

I always got the feeling they were lovers. Even if I'm wrong it's still 10x hotter that way.

Good to see I'm not the only one who basically did a 'wtf?' at the ending :D

They ran threw Coccon the Lavra at the bottom i'm assusming was caused by cacoon falling, once they they got to the bottom they merged with the earth (Soil) of cacoon, creating the extra arms, to hold cacoon, while it would seem they then called on soil from grand pulse to then create a piller for cacoon to rest on when they turned it into crystail...

When Fang and Van, turn into ragnork, instead of destorying cacoon, they save' it due to the Love(?) hope and promise whats explained at the end...

what piss's me off is how when u finish the game, when you restart you go back to where final fight is.... and cacoon is still floating and there still no ppl on grand pulse..

Ps. Plz forgive the typeOs, and its kinda hard to explain i guess its one of those things u get or u dnt get but if dont does it mater bc the cs was hot !

Ending was a disappointment. No lie. I expected like a 20 minute ending. I was also expecting them to do the whole wedding between Serah and Snow. Sadly the only thing to disappoint me in this game was the ending, rofl. However I did like when Dajh and Serah turned back to human from crystal. It was kinda predictable, but even knowing it was still kinda cool.

Everything else was meh. The cut-scene where the party is entering Eden is much better than the ending imo.

EDIT: To add to what KoD said, I was hoping they would let you go back to Cocoon some how. I miss the Sunleth Waterscape QQ

Cocoon is powered by the fal'Cie who are powered by Orphan. When you kill Orphan the power of Cocoon and it's fal'Cie are obviously knocked out. Cocoon then loses it's gravitational field and begins to plummet towards Gran Pulse. Fang/Vanille become Ragnarok and create a pillar of crystal to hold Cocoon up and of course, save Cocoon. They've completed their focus and turn to crystal.

Everything that happens when Fang/Vanille/other group members turn into Cie'th is an illusion. At first Barthandelus is trying to get Vanille to turn into Ragnarok and then of course switches to Fang. Barthandelus doesn't really have any power of his own, he uses illusions to get people to do what he wants. He's trying to make them feel so terrible that they willingly transform into Ragnarok.

It's pretty simple really and I quite liked the ending although I do wish we could go back to Cocoon. There aren't many areas to explore and that's the only thing I don't like about the end of the game.

I always thought Vanille was Fang's daughter, but the lovers angle is such a better thought.

As for the ending, it was kind of a "wtf just happend?!" for me at first but it made sense after I gave it a bit of time to sink in.

Overall though, the best part of this game certainly wasn't the story.

But they didn't save Cocoon, they destroyed it and only those who were safely evacuated lived. It's not a real happy ending honestly.

^ Good point, lol. Wasn't it Orphan's objective to create a new world using Cocoon's destruction? Still kind of what happened..I doubt Cocoon was unscratched after all that.

The way the CE Guide explains the ending is that Dysley's whole plan was for the Maker to return when the entire human race was exterminated along with the planets. The planets would've been destroyed if Cocoon actually crashed into Gran Pulse, taking all life with them.

Any of the hero's could've become Ragnarok at any time during the end, they just had to give in to despair. Dysley's goal was to make at least one of them become Ragnarok, therefore utterly annihilating everything. They didn't do that, and they kinda had to fight Orphan.

The parties goal was to kill the fal'Cie to eliminate the need for them and make humankind actually work for things, like they did on Gran Pulse. Once Dysley died, Orphan attacked right away.

How exactly did they destroy it? It's still in one piece just with some crystal attached to it to keep it aloft. The people aren't evacuated till after the group has turned into crystal and reawoken. The only reason that they are 'evacuating' is because they no longer have any power, food, water, etc, not because Cocoon has been destroyed.
