XBOX Wireless controller and Vista

Is there a special set of drivers that I need to install to be able to get my wireless controller to work with FFXI and XIV? I've installed all the drivers from the MS page but none of them seem to work. When I go to gamepad for XIV it says no pad found.

Under gamepad in the control panel I have nothing, but When i look for the drivers it has XBOX 360 wireless controller and charging kit. What do I need to do to get this to work properly D

Are you just using the charge and play kit or the actual wireless adapter?

Won't work. I tried... Charge and play kit will only allow it to charge
...unless they changed somethin in the past few months

Damn, so i need to either get the wireless adapter or get a wired controller?

Yes, and at last check Microsoft discontinued both of those. You can still find them in stores if you hunt, but I just eventually settled on a Gamestop knock-off wired until I got my PS3 controller working right.
