Requesting Help: How To Get Free PS3 Games

Basically a friend of a friend said he knew how to get them off the internet via a torrent and then burning onto a blue ray disc. I suspected he was lying, and the more I look into it, the more it seems he was. Basically what I want to know is that is it even possible to get free games? I looked into it a little and can't seem anything torrented related. The closest thing I can find is about putting Linux as an OS on your PS3 and burning an iso of the game, then a loader or something to read it allowing you to play it. Anyone have any experience with this or know of any other way to get free games?

Also, this may not be the right area for the thread. I thought tech. suited it best, but gaming may be better? Feel free to move it if so.

If he's talking about PS3 games, he's BSing. However playing PS2 backups is definitly possible with a hotswap.

The most I know is that it's possible to install PSN-related games without going through PSN, but the games won't run until they're authorized by PSN itself.

As far as I'm aware, the PS3 is still unmodded to this day.
(Geohot's exploit didn't seem to go anywhere, neither did his promise to release a CFW to keep OtherOS functionality in)
