Resist Paralyze trait testing

I did my Apocalypse trials on a mob that used a Paralyze TP move, so I decided to go through my logs and get some statistics. While I realize this isn't exactly new thread worthy, I figured it'd be better than having the information lost!

Lv 80:
119 Blaster
-27 Resist!
-12 Miss

Lv 81:
301 Blaster
-66 Resist!
-21 Miss

Lv85:
436 Blaster
-101 Resist!
-69 Miss


I'm fairly sure resist trait is checked before a magical evasion(normal resist), but I'm not 100% sure. I remember doing lower mobs, and having trait proc often even though I would evade majority of the time anyway. Anyway seems like a ~22% proc rate on the Resist Paralyze trait for DRK~

I would have guessed it was higher, from fighting Navial Raptors and Cerberus. Good info as always!

I would have thought resist would be calculated after magical evasion, similar to parrying coming after physical evasion. I can't say it works one way or the other for sure though.

this because RDMs don't have resist petrify, long standing typo from the JP client.


(at least mine has almost never proced).

Resist petrify procs the same as any other resist trait. It's just that ~20% is ~20% and there's a scarcity of things that Petrify.

Resist traits work plenty well for beastmen... I always figured they were there but less potent for players. PLD resist sleep always used to bite me in the ass in dynamis and BRD resist silence procs fairly often when I bother to play it >.>.

I've noticed a large jump in the resist silence on brd. I am usualy on brd, so I have alot of playtime on it.

For one reason or another for me it proc'ed alot before, but it does seam higher now. Again, no raw data of this, but I am going to pull up the logs of my abyssea pty on cocks the other night and see, I found myself standing in range of the silence move just to see myself resist :D
