Easy overclocking tool.

I was using the integrated EasyTuner that came with my gigabyte mobo but since changing out mobos whats a simple to use over clocking utility out there?

Or can easytune be used on any motherboard regardless of make.

I wouldn't trust any kind of automated overclocking utility. Every chip is different in terms of what voltage it takes to achieve a certain overclock. Best bet is just doing some research on how to overclock your specific motherboard instead of risking damage to your hardware.

yeah i used to do it manually, its been a hot minute since i've done it so idk if i trust myself anymore.. yeah i dont really like using auto-tuning tools either.

I think a lot of motherboards are coming with utilities like that - I'd just look at your OEM's website for it, or dig up your box/discs. If nothing else, it might give you basic settings to go off of. EasyTune was helpful for me in that respect, though I wound up tweaking things in the BIOS as well.

Though amusingly, ATI's Overdrive clocked my 4850 past stable (had like 4-5 driver crashes on the FFXIV benchmark before just quitting it), so I'd definitely agree that utilities aren't a surefire deal either. That said, it was -far- more than I expected (was something like 625->740Mhz GPU, 993Mhz->1163Mhz RAM). Sorta split the difference to 700/1070 and it's fine. /shrug


Either way, knowing what general settings people use and going from there should be fine. Just start conservative and test as you go.
