Scarring Reducer?

So long story short, I got hit by a car on my bike the other day and got sent for a spill. Fortunately, I ended up with nothing more than some road rash on my face and elbow. No concussions or broken bones, but I'm concerned with the possibility of the road rash on my face scarring. I'm not too worried about my elbow, since it's not my moneymaker. Neither of them appear to be deep enough to cause any major scarring, but I want to be safe just in case. I was wondering if any of the BG medical or otherwise knew of anything I could throw on these that would reduce the odds of bad scarring, seeing as how I'm ugly enough as is.

tldr: Face is fucked up, what can I do to prevent scarring?

neosporin and vitamin E, that seems to work for me. imo your face should heal up fine and you might have scraped that elbow to the fat so there might be a small white spot at the deepest part. When I was 18, I got road rash from jumping off the hood of a moving car, the entire left side of my body was scraped up even under my clothes, and the only scar that I have is a small white spot on my arm. So you should be fine.

Looked up the bio oil, and from what reviews and feedback I found it does work pretty well in terms of scarring. Any idea as to where I can find a bottle of it? Something Target or Walmart would carry? I'm not overly concerned about the scarring since it's not very deep on either spot, but I'd like to play it safe just in case.

Just use Vitamin E and/or Neosporin as everyone said and, need to stress this, don't pick at it. That being said I really, really doubt you'll get scarring even if you do nothing at all. Shouldn't take more than about two weeks for it to look completely normal again.

Cover it with A&D Ointment and put plastic wrap over it. Best way to prevent scarring is to prevent scabbing. Saran wrap and a nice coating of ointment will help prevent a lot of that.

Id keep the scars personally.

In any case.. road rash like that just goes away by itself if youre a generally quick healer.

I was biking very fast down a gravel trail that was fairly steep many a moon ago, and hit a big rock, fell forward, and ended up skidding down like 20 feet or something. I dont remember those few seconds, but my face was torn up something fierce lol, however you could never tell it happend if you looked at me now (or omg maybe my face dissfigured so much I look like I do now because of it), aside from a quarter inch round small depth divet at the side of my temple. I assume thats where I first hit and landed on a nice little rock. Just got up, wiped the rocks from my face, and kept going covered in blood lol, got to the house, and just used some water to clean up.

Lots of it, a long with what has been mentioned, Take care of your skin and you wont end up looking like Two-Face when its healed.

Also if you're not already. Moisturize the area in question when a dermo-approved facial moisturizer that has Vita-E/etc. in it (Neutrogena/etc.)

I'm honestly surprised it took this long to get these posts, but I appreciate them all the same. Sadly though, my dark Ginger magic has little use in this situation, seeing as to how we exist solely to destroy.

In the mean time, went to Walgreens today and picked up some Hipaclens to clean the shit out since I still had a little bit of gravel in my elbow. Also got some cortizone cream and a thing of Mederma since they didn't have any of the Bio Oil. And I've been wanting to try the Naked juices anyways, so now I have an excuse to pick up a couple bottles of it. Thanks for all the feedback. If you guys want I'll post pictures once I heal up, though I doubt any of you guys really care about my ugly mug.

Vit E, yep. I like cocoa butter with E. Put that shit on any skin damage and it disappears.

That's not going to scar, unless you pick at it incessantly; don't worry about it. Hell, even if it did, chicks dig brow scars.
