House or apartment? If apartment, might actually be a neighbor who has the major nest and no matter what you try, they will keep coming back.

If you'd like more reading material on this subject, have a blast. You can even have another blast, while you're at it.

(Also, Qal broke his streak by not posting in this thread, too.)

In my experience, Roach motels don't really work. Sprinkle a line of boric acid that surrounds any place you've seen the roaches. For instance, along the kitchen walls and across the doorway to the kitchen. Also put it near suspected targets, like your sink. This serves three purposes:
    1) It lets you know where the roaches are walking, because they'll track it around. If you see them coming from your radiators, for instance, you know that's an access point. If they don't touch the perimeter but do touch your sink, you know that they're coming from your walls somehow.
    2) It desiccates them.
    3) It makes it hard for them to move by working its way up into their joints and basically locking up their exoskeleton.

It has low toxicity in humans and is fairly easy to avoid even if you put it near your food and water. Roaches can survive over a month without food, but they die in a week without water. That brings me to two other suggestions:
    * Seal off any potential water sources, fix leaking faucets, etc.
    * Put all your food in air-tight containers, like these.

Any bugfight involving a centipede isn't a fight. It's slaughter. There's no sport in it!

Everytime I see a roach, I make sure to smack it as hard as I can with my shoe. That way the bang will serve as a warning for other roaches that their impending doom awaits them. Like in the Hunger Games.

I can tell you from sordid experience; roaches, especially German roaches, are hard to get rid of, ugh. Try the traps/earth first, if that doesn't work, I'd be asking your landlord to look up a good exterminator if I were you.

...To be honest, my family had a roach problem since before I could remember; We fought them hard. Bug bombs, roach traps, you name it, we tried it. But we never eradicated them; even though about 5-6 moves. (Uh, if you guys didn't know they like to hide in fridges and in electronics, remember that if you're ever in a roach infested apartment and need to move, seal your electronic crap in bags for a month before you use it again. The little blighters do suffocate and can be killed by cold.) We only finally, FINALLY got rid of them in this house, where we saved our money, checked reviews, and got a exterminator in here. (He's still on retainer now.)

And yeah, swatting them with shoe may seem effective, but for every one you swat, I swear there's like 200 more.

When we had our roaches back in the day, every time we'd bomb the house or use raid, they'd just shed their exoskeleton and run around as little mutant white cockroaches. Used to have to spray the couch every night before sleeping on the poison. Couldn't throw a sheet over the sprayed couch since they'd just run all over the unsprayed sheets lol

Cream Soda; I KNOW. Bug bombs/bug foggers for us seemed to cut their numbers down for a while, but they'd always come back. Sprays didn't always work right either. And the traps? Nuh-uh. Earth didn't work for us too well because well, we live in GA. Translation; it's really humid, and earth doesn't work where the air's wet.

The only thing that's perm got rid of them is the professionals that came in about a year ago, got into the walls with a micro spray, and let them have it. I won't say who; I assume the OP is not in my area, but for a stubborn case that may be the only way to eradicate them. The exterminator id'ed our case as "commercial roaches" aka. tough german roaches that you might find in stuff you got from the store. He said those are the worst; I assume it was some used furniture my parents got that they hitched a ride to our house in.

Wasn't the most pleasant way to get rid of roaches (we had to half move out) but was VERY effective. It's expensive but who wants the problems that have to do with roaches all the time? Not me.

You fought them on the beaches, on the landing grounds and in the streets? With growing confidence and growing strength in the air, never surrendering?

Surprised nobody mentioned sonic pest control yet. A couple of these will repel just about anything. Totally worth the price.

1.3 feet per second move speed, fuck that shit. I'd rather burn the whole building to the ground and start over.
