First thing's first, I have an old ass Sony Home theater in-a-box system from 2002 which has served me great until just recently...

Ever since I started playing gran turismo 5, the subwoofer would randomly start shutting off and make a click sound, then turn on again, it barely gets warm and it does it completely at random now and well... it's pretty damn annoying. Now it's pretty much affected everything including my bluray movies and my 360 play. I've changed the subwoofer cable going to the receiver and i've plugged the sub in a different outlet, and no go, i'm already determining that the issue actually is the actual sub itself.

Just wanted to ask if there are any possible solutions to help me out in this? or am i doomed to spend even more money on a new sub or possibly a new HTIB which i shouldn't be needing to spend money on but my bad luck always strikes at the right moment...

Also, if no solution is found, what is a good recommendation for a subwoofer around 10" at a decent price?

BTW subwoofer model is Sony SA-WMSP4
