    FFXI: UCS-5311

Hello, does anyone know how I can get passed the UCS-5311 error?

    Error MSG reads:

A Time Out Error has occurred during the card authentication process.

I've called playonline and they told me that PlayOnline is just busy, and to try at 5-15 minute intervals; I did since September 29th and nothing worked. I also asked playonline customer service via telephone, and I was told that it's not the secure verification problem (UCS-5313)- Just server being congested with a bunch of people trying to get through with their payment updates.

I use a prepaid debit card (only thing I use to pay for FFXI) if that helps anything. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Or should I just wait and give it a week? I've never encountered this problem before with my prepaid cards, so it's buggin' me.

I can log in and all that junk, up until I reach the FFXI gameplay screen because I have no Contend ID's available/activated. Trying to change my payment into like I said. My friend tried to update my account payment information on their computer, but it showed the same error message.

    Hi.

I am trying to update my credit card information in order to reactivate my account and continue playing FFxi. I am on a PC with Windows XP, and wired directly through my modem; my ISP is Comcast. I use the normal POL/FFxi startup, not Windower. I am able to play with friends' characters, but am unable to update CC info in order to reactivate and play as my own. My credit card is a verified Visa.

When logging into POL, I receive the following message:

"Your account has been closed due to unpaid fees resulting from declined authorization on your credit card. You can reactivate your account by paying these fees with a valid card. Pay fees now? (LM-21)"

My account was closed in August 2010 after not making payments for 3 months.

When I submit my updated credit card information, I repeatedly receive errors:

UCS-5009: The server is busy. Please try again.
UCS-5311: A timeout error has occurred in the card authentication process. Please wait a moment and try again.

These errors have repeatedly prevented me from reactivating my account for 3 weeks. I have spoken with customer service representatives via phone and POL's webchat. They all suggested the following:

-Wait 30 min and try again
    -Turn off firewalls/anti-virus software
    -Plug in directly through modem
-Call bank to check if card is blocked/deactivated
    -Try reactivating from another computer
-Try reactivating from a PS2 or XBOX 360

I have done all of these and nothing has worked; I still receive one of the same two errors when trying to reactivate. I have even right-clicked on the error page to hit "Reload," but the same error simply reloads. I have read many stories on other forums from players/customers with this same problem, but I am unable to cite a solution. Has anybody experienced this? What was your solution? Can anyone offer a different suggestion?

    Thanks in advance.

Hello, I ran into the same problem as all of you today.
But fret not, for I have found a solution! :D
It's all in this video. Remove the spaces, BG won't allow me to post actual links yet. >.>

The trick is entering your real card info, getting the error screen, going back and putting fake info EXCEPT for your expiry date, continuing until you get another error, and then going back to edit your real info in again.
It's all in the video, so watch it!

Good luck, it worked for me.
