Question about Best Buys return policy

So about a month ago I got a PS3 at Best Buy since they were running a promo where you got a $50 gift card with a 160GB PS3. It was making a weird buzzing noise, so I exchanged it for a new one. Now this new one has developed a very similar noise, so i plan on exchanging it again before my 30 day warranty is up. However, I noticed that now theres a new bundle that includes Killzone 3 for the same price. Will I be able to exchange my standard 160GB for the KZ3 bundle without any issues? I'm mainly wondering because of the gift card that I got when I bought the PS3. I haven't used it, but I'm not sure how they would handle things.

most places will replace it with the same model, not all 160 gb are coming with killzone3, many places have them in stock without killzone3 in them. they'll most likely just exchange for one without the game

Just ask customer service, and point out its the same price.

Usually they don't care, as long as its the same price.

If you have multiple best buy in your area try finding one that has a glut of the killzone bundles. Usually you can just ask if you can exchange it, and they'll let you pick up the equipment and bring it to the counter. Same price = they'll exhange it, usually. Don't expect it though because it's a differnt SKU, and if they have the SKU you bought in stock they might force you to exchange it for that one.

Just ask for store credit for the PS3, then go buy the killzone bundle.

I worked @ Best Buy for 3 years, its easy. If Customer Service won't do it. Go to Geek Squad the next day, and ask them to see if they can fix it(They can't legally) If the store near you is anything like the one I worked at we will just give you a store credit either way @ Geek Squad(It's easier) :D

But unless there was a Sony rep or DM breathing down your neck about restocking returns while new stock leaves the doors you really wouldn't give a crap.

most people would, as it could cost you your job. the company policy is like item. if they break it thats up to them, but he asked what the policy was.

I wound up returning it for a full refund (even refunded me what the gift card was worth). Didn't get the KZ3 bundle since I finally found a local shop that can repair my old PS3.
