I don't know how many of you are movie buffs, but Source Code has been a much beloved script that has been around for some time. The movie went into production and the official trailer just came out.



I very rarely get excited to see a movie, but this may be the first one in a long while I really look forward to. If you've never heard of the script, imagine a combination of Half-Life 2, Groundhog's Day, and The Matrix that somehow manages to work. Source Code has the same director who did Moon (if you liked that), and I think it has great potential to be a big hit.

Sorry if I'm missing something but considering the financial success of the director's previous work and an intricate sci-fi time travel storyline, theres plenty there to be cynical about this being a hit. Sure this could be the next Inception, but this is probably way too cerebral for the average theater goer. And if its being distributed by the same geniuses who distributed the awesome movie that was Moon, don't get your hopes up. I loved what this director did w/ Moon and it was honestly one of my top 5 movies of 09 but come on, it so far from being a hit that the production company/distributor forgot to have any sort of Oscar campaign when it couldve easily swept best original screenplay, supporting actor and lead actor.

Actually I'm a little worried that to some it might feel like too much of an Inception wanna be. But it really has its own thing going for it. I'd also say it falls nicely within the bounds of populist mainstream movie fair (read: explosions and pretty ladies who aren't Sam Rockwell) and an intriguing sci-fi premise. I mean I dunno I might be wrong we'll see.

I'm interested in seeing it. I just wonder why they can't wait until the next bomb, then find the guy who did it and just take over his body and stop it lol.

It looks interesting but when I first saw the commercial I couldn't help but think "...so it's Deja Vu with white people?".

The boat is now a train.
"We can use this to find the guy that did it, but we can't change what happened." But he finds a way to do it anyway.
Love interest woven in to give the protagonist a personal stake in the events.
