    PSP question

I have a really old PSP1000 but the battery that it originally came with is long gone. I bought some 10 dollar one a few years back and it really sucks, lasts like 1 hour off charge if that. Anyone have experiences with good batteries out there for psp 1000? I bought the extended life battery from Sony official website and they don't include a bigger battery door... so it shuts off the moment it touches something because the battery isn't in place right. Had to send it back and now I'm looking for a new battery. Any ideas?

I bought this one for my psp 1000 months ago. It fits perfectly, it even comes with lids for psp 2000s. Not sure if it will fit any 3000s, but I "think" it should.

Yes.. that is the battery I bought from Sony. The problem is that it doesn't come with a bigger battery cover for the psp1000... only the 2000 verison. So it is too big for the psp1000 and causes the psp to shut off whenever something touches the back of the battery part . How do you get it to work for your psp 1000?

Maybe, I've dropped it a lot in the past which is the reason why the original battery is done lol. I just don't know why it would randomly turn off with that battery inside instead of the cheap one I have now. Don't think I wanna buy a new psp just yet though, prolly an older version to get CFW on but I think they are all able to get it now?

Ummm, are you sure it's a psp 1000 then? I bought my psp when it came out and it fits perfectly with the original cover. Yours should too =/. Are the battery pins damaged on the psp, and Is the one you returned 2200mAh?

Found it, yeah it's the same. Could be your PSP like Hyan mentioned.

Mine does that too, PSP1000 and dropped it a lot in the past as well (had it in the army with me, so no wonder). Got a new battery last week so I could update the official firmware, it was official sony battery and lasted like 4-5 hours but it kept turning itself off every hour or so, which made me just stick to AC cable. I'm not sure if the incidents are related, but the battery was brand new and the PSP is old as shit, so maybe this is normal behaviour for them. My battery fits my PSP too, so size is not the issue here.

I think you need still a pandora for 2000-3000 depending on your OFW and PSPGo for sure, 1000 is easy as hell to crack still though.

Yeah I still have a Pandora Battery from when I did it on this PSP I have now. Don't think I can really justify buying a new PSP considering I usually only play it when I'm at home, so will just use the power cord I guess :/. I'll prolly end up buying a new one at some point.

Really, it could be a problem from your PSP or the battery itself. Did the old "crappy" do the same turning off if you hit your psp?

Sounds to me like you may have gotten a defective battery then. If you psp doesn't turn off with the "crappy" battery, you can risk and try buying another one then.

Just bought this battery and it works perfectly . The one I bought from Sony must have been bad.

Edit: Nvm... still doing the same fucking shit.. god damn it. Dunno what the problem is, doesn't do it at all with the old battery I had but for some reason this one reads it and then it turns off. It's like the battery isn't in place but its the exact same size as the old battery.

Edit2: Taping it down works.... oh well.

That's totally weird, could be the PSP's pins. Maybe you damaged them somehow after you lost your old original battery. Tape away and have fun!
