    4-13-11 Abyssea Adjustments

    [dev1003] Abyssea Adjustments

    * [dev1003]Abyssea Adjustments
    The upcoming major version update will see the following adjustments made to Abyssea:

    o New Ways to Obtain Empyrean Upgrade Items
    o Empyrean +1 seals will be made obtainable via new battlefields.
    o Empyrean +2 items will be made obtainable from notorious monsters in additional Abyssea areas as follows:

    + Heroes of Abyssea area items will also appear in Scars of Abyssea.
    + Scars of Abyssea area items will also appear in Vision of Abyssea.

    o Visitant Light Status
    In addition to visitant duration remaining, players will be able to inspect their active lights when healing.
     
    o Notorious Monster Weaknesses
    The following blue magic spells will no longer be effective against enemy weaknesses:
    Death Ray / Blitzstrahl / Hecatomb Wave / 1000 Needles / Frost Breath / Firespit / Regurgitation / Seedspray


    Interesting changes. Wonder why so many BLU spells are being taken off the list. I never had issues with spells other than 1000 Needles and Blitz.

    so i take it some of the new battlefields are based inside abyssea zones. also, like how active lights will be displayed to us now

    I've had occasional issues with Blitz. Regardless, it looks like they're taking BLU down to just one spell per element, perhaps people were bitching about set points?

    Wonder if they'll add in other BLU Spells, though I kind of doubt it because I'd figure they just swap out 1000 Needles and Blitzstrahl with something else. And will another job be getting additional spells? Or a different job getting exclusive spells (SCH Helices)?

    ijdk, quite curious though.

    They all have longer charge times I believe. It also makes sure that they are removing one spell per element so there isn't an imbalance of necessary trigger spells. This also makes it possible for a BLU to have all of their trigger spells equipped at all times with enough room for other spells and combos. Good move imo.

    Nothing to help congestion at Empyrean weapon upgrade NMs though? Just yet more reasons (presumably) for people to kill the NMs.

    wow lights show... this will clarify lots of stuff. Like exact amount of Ebons and how they work with your abyssite etc.


    BLU stuff gone makes me very happy.

    Because "Empyrean +1 Seals" and "Empyrean +2 items" has everything to do with weapons, and not armor.

    Exactly. Now you can be ever-ready with only using up 8 slots/31 set points. Probably not the best approach still since that leaves you with only 19-24 set points, but you can have a 3-4 day range of spells for about 16 points.

    Because it was so hard adjusting your spells when you figured out the proc was blue magic. Yeah, I really hope BLU's don't gimp themselves by tossing out all those set points just to be ready to proc instantly.

    Probably doing this because Cards can be such a pain in the arse to acquire. And if the VNM ones are put on shit like Glavoid or Briareus, then that will probably and ultimately increase the amount of Empyrean weapons there are in circulation (maybe, who knows).

    Either way, YES MORE SPACES FOR BLU SPELLZ!!

    If they are making +2's so easy to get now, they must be planning on making a lot better armor for the more "hardcore" players i guess. Unless they want everyone on the server to look more alike than they do now.

    Anyways, the BLU trigger change was cool, but silly. The smart BLUs out there would wait until every other trigger failed, then set the two elemental spells that are needed. Takes all of 1-2 minutes and you don't have to shift your entire spell palette.
