    Windows 8

    The Windows 8 Build 6.2.7955.0 M2 has been leaked on to FTP server on BetaArchive according to one of the members there. This will soon lead to a public leak in the form of torrent file (available now).

    This matured build according the member sports Ribbon UI, Application Folder, Immersive browser and full DWM. Other features like Webcam, TaskUI, PDF Reader etc can be unlocked preferably using the tools already available.

    This is considered to be the un-traceable version of Windows 8 M2 namely 7955.fbl_srv_wdacxml.110228-1930. The screenshots of the very same build was circulating across the Web over the past few days.

    Installed it on an old computer.First thought is whoever thought it was a good idea to center the title bar for windows is a fucking retard.

    Boot up time was impressive. Under 30 secs or so (i'll time it later), with a freshly formatted 7200 rpm hdd. edit: 22 seconds

    Everything needs to be run in compatability mode. Driver installer would not start saying it does not support windows 98/ME (lol), skype crashed when signing in, etc.

    Honestly, not much to say about it. It runs more or less the same as win 7 so far. Not really worth the download yet, but looks like a good start so far.

    Probably a world where every alpha doesn't have a nondisclosure agreement and stuff doesn't get released to the public ever because bad publicity and opinions kill the sale of a product before it even gets done with the beta phase.

    Obviously. I was expecting poor compatibility, and assumed it would not be much different from 7. Sorry if my brief thoughts on it saying it is not worth the download offended you. And why would it be worth downloading? It's a pre-alpha.

    I don't think Windows will get much better cosmetically, I'm mostly interested in what behind-the-scenes changes are coming.

    History teaches us that MS fucks with where the control panels are to change that shit with EVERY SINGLE VERSION, so it's no surprise that the UI is 100% default settings.

    Implying this is a product and not a random first pass build that could very well be a poc. Compiled from back in February, this is fully legit.

    Can already tell you they need to lax the requirements for the portable work station. It won't install on a 16GB usb stick, because you don't actually have 16GB usable. Also I want the option to install windows 8 on a usb stick already to screw around with. Guess I will have to find a hard drive sitting around.
