Mouse advice for a guy who owns a mechanical keyboard...
So obviously I'm fanatical about my time spent on a computer (~14 hours a day probably) and the mechanical keyboard is worth its weight in gold.
So what mouse would a guy like me buy?
I had a Razer gaming mouse, simple, from woot.com and it hurt my hand after extended use. I bought a Logitech trackball, took a week to get used to it, and it's amazing in terms of support. My hand doesn't hurt anymore.

But I'm interested in other options to make my time spent on the computer that much better....

Which Razer mouse did you have? I've had my DeathAdder for years and years and I find it to be very comfortable.

I spend anywhere from 5 (thats the honest minimum) to ~16 hours at my computer and am also a mechanical keyboard guy.
I'm pretty happy with my logitech G500, however I almost can't use a mouse without a beaded wrist thing or at least something for my wrist. My chair sits slightly lower than my desk, so my arm goes upwards a little. I NEED something for my wrist.

washable etc I will buy a new one every so often, they last and last but I'm clean so yeah. I spend a lot of hours gaming however, so I really make use of the mouse. I haven't used a ball in probably 15 years at least lol, but I'd imagine if I wasn't gaming they wouldn't be too bad. Still, I've gone through tons of gaming mice, I like the g500 the most, and would be lost without something like what I mentioned for my wrist.
edit: my dpi settings are also really high though because I'm using a 30inch (2560x1600) and a 26inch (1900x1200) dual monitor set up, so I don't have much movement causing me any real discomfort. I snipe in games at the same dpi that I use to browse the internet as well (4000-5000dpi)

I use a Logitech MX518 and a Razer Naga, depending on application.

An Efficient Consumption Bundle
Logitech G500 is always a safe bet. Razer mice are pretty good too, though I would avoid any of the crazy 10+ button ones. I've heard positive things about the Razer DeathAdder; 5 buttons is good for most gaming and office applications.
OP, you mentioned that a Razer mouse hurt your hand after prolonged use. Why do you feel you were hurting after use? Was it the design (too small, not ergonomic, etc), weight, or desktop setup? Might help in providing other recommendations.
