    RMA Woes pt 2

    i RMA'd my defective asus monitor and they sent me an email saying
    Dear Valued Customer,

    Per our repair facility, they were unable to duplicate the problem with your monitor and test results are NTF (No Trouble Found) for RMA # go fuck yourself.

    Please provide more information so we can try to duplicate the issue. Need specifics as to when & how problem occurs and any components being used that could possibly be causing the problem.
    Was another monitor or different cable for testing to isolate issue?

    Please note for this model if using HDMI or DVI it may be necessary to set up in the following sequence:

    1. Disconnect both power cord and HDMI/DVI input cable;

    2. Plug in power cord and power on;

    3. Plug in HDMI/DVI input cable;

    4. Press the input button to switch input mode.


    It may not be defective, rather a design issue. If you plug in HDMI first then power on, it may not detect signal. Instead, it will need to be powered on first then plug in HDMI.



    The unit will be returned after 6/23/11, 11AM, PST if there is no response from you. Please contact us if there are any questions or concerns.

    instead of punching a hole through my door i responded thusly
    When using HDMI the audio and video disappears constantly and the DVI constantly fuzzes out and loses picture. I have tested multiple monitors with the same cable. I have tested four computers, 3 xbox's, and 4 ps3's. Plug in an xbox, and try to do something. the audio and video black out constantly. Send me a monitor that works please. This is my first Asus product, and most likely my last.

    If you do get it back and it still has issues, take a video of it exhibiting the behavior with the monitor. Show that you use multiple cables/different sources with the monitor and it exhibits the same issue. Then show the cable/various sources working fine with a different monitor.

    Contact tier 2 support and send em the video.

    I wish I knew someone that works for Asus, might be able to help you out a bit more

    Edit: Also, I dont know if you can post a review on Newegg's website if you didn't order the product from them, but I would go post a negative review of the product on Newegg. Reps usually look at the reviews and respond, offering assistance. Worth a shot...

    I did get it from newegg and it came with a 2 year warranty..

    2 year mfg warranty? or extended warranty through Newegg? (I assume mfg since that is where you sent it, but just making sure)

    i had it for >6 months before i RMA'd so its still under manufacturer technically

    Well, if you did purchase the extended Newegg warranty, go bitch to them and explain that Asus will not repair your monitor, even though it is defective. That might get you somewhere.

    Im still confused lol.

    I guess it would help if you linked the product on Newegg.

    It might just have a 2 year manufacturer warranty on it. Usually you can buy an extended warranty through Newegg, but this just sounds like its MFG warranty...

    what the fuck. the email i sent to the "support guy" who contacted me about this just gave me a mailer daemon notice saying his inbox is full.

    i'm calling them right now demanding a new monitor for this bullshit

    It looks like it has a 3 year mfg warranty.

    Like I said, if you dont get anywhere with service, go post a negative review on the newegg feedback page..

    If you cant get through to the guy, try their live chat if they have one, email their RMA/customer service again, or call (like you are doing now)

    they said if it comes back unfixed they will cross ship me another one assuming they have more(which they think they dont, wtf this isnt an old monitor)

    Wow. asus attached my email address to two different RMA's and i've been dealing with that guys RMA the whole time. my rma was completed and my monitor was shipped out today

    this is definitely going to be my last asus product

    I'd be surprised. Asus is pretty good about fixing their shit. One person sucking at doing their RMA job should not stop you from buying their products
