Binge watched Classroom of the Elite because of how much it's been talked-up. I'm up to 4x11 (current, I think?). The fuck is going on with the animation? It started strong and then just dove off a cliff. There are parts in s4 where I was actually distracted by MC's fish eyes.

I may be wrong in this (I'm probably not), but I'm pretty sure that all of the new "main" first-years introduced (save for Hosen, MF has negative chill.) are from the White Room. They straight up showed Nanase finding who will probably end up being dead-butler-san. Psycho girl is dangerous and showed MC-level smarts and manipulation in how she orchestrated the whole knife incident. And I can't even fucking begin to imagine why Yagami has been a focus character as of late. Just waiting for that shoe to drop.

Don't love that they're re-treading the Island Survival test, but the rest of the tests have at least been interesting as far as I can recall.

I really like the "Classes can move up or down in the hierarchy" plot device. Has made for the most interesting story beats so far.

I don't think I've ever wished so vehemently for a MC to fail as much as I do for Ayanokoji. Like, I get that he's supposed to be some kind of emotionally stunted weapon-child, but it gets real old real quick when they beat you over the head with it constantly.

I didn't really have an opinion one way or the other about Hirata at first, but his emo phase just really soured me on him.

Couldn't stand Yamauchi. Dunno why they dragged him being the mole out as long as they did. It was pretty obvious. Glad he's gone. Now do the rest of the perv brigade.

Haven't a single fuck to give about Ibuki. Not a one.

Kei is the dumbest character by a country mile. Recognizes that she's nothing but a tool, but then somehow also believes MC loves her? No wait, I forgot Sudo exists.

Bummed about Sakura getting shelved almost entirely post-s1. She was Best Girl for a hot minute, imo.

Ichinose is a strong contender for Best Girl. Her "dark side" wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting, after the Kushida reveal.

Speaking of, I don't understand why MC has kept Kushida around as long as he has. Like... I'm not even sure they needed her to help Ichinose. 1-B didn't give a single fuck about the rumors after Ichinose's sob story. Also the only one that the new rumor rule protects against is Kushida herself. Thought her reveal was interesting, but quickly lost interest when they did pretty much fuckall with it until the Ichinose situation, minus a couple minor things with Ryuen/1C.

Couldn't stand Horikita at first. She's marginally better now, but still has a ways to go. In danger of joining Ibuki in "IDGAF" territory.

Current Best Girl: Shiina (book girl). Someone who actually seems like a genuine human person. Can't wait to find out she bites the heads off of baby chicks for fun or some shit.

Ryuen is Best Best Girl.

I could keep going, but this is already too long as it is. All in all: 4/10, will probably still keep watching because I hate myself.

I just binge watched all the way to the current ep of Wistoria (and S2) - shockingly good series

A lot of the story elements are pretty generic but the fights are god tier and the MC is That Motherfucking Dude

Seriously, back when I first started watching this I thought it was going to be just another forgettable OP hero anime with generic story, yet I'm so invested because of the dude, you just can't help but cheer for him. And the way second season started? That second episode was more hype than most anime's final episodes

Given it's by the same guy who did DanMachi, I guess we can say the author knows how to make an MC suffer and build them up. I suppose from the marketability standpoint, this one being less horni and potentially appealing to potterheads with the magic school aspect might help its popularity some. Still, some characters are annoyingly one-dimensional and the amount of denial that persists despite personally seeing MC do things can get annoying. Maybe I'm just too woke to respect any culture rooted in conservatism, fact or fiction.

They thankfully don't play it up that much anymore compared to early on in S1. They definitely lay it on thick with the "dude is an asshole but akshually has a super tragic past and is just coping" for like, half the cast at the start lol.
