Anyone else have this problem? Usually the first link of a google search redirects you to somewhere else.
Got rid of the first one on AVG. I have another one, but cannot get rid of it. Any ideas?

Start > Run > devmgmt.msc (Device manager)
Click 'Show Hidden Devices' under View. Expand all the devices and look for weird lookign .sys devices, disable them. If there's nothing under there:
Start > Run > msconfig
Go to Services/Startup and disable anything that looks suspicious and doesn't belong.
Then run Malwarebytes or Microsoft Secuirty Essentials, AVG is shit.
I used to use AVG but swapped to Avast when I was tired of AVG using ungodly amounts of system resources.
is this the one that was redirecting to something like gotoearth.com/searchresults.
i remember having issues searching on google and about half the time i would be redirected to a URL like that with a blank page. i ran spybot and got rid of some nasties and it seemed to get rid of the problem.
Saw this yesterday, if you have the same thing as the one I dealt with, it's actually part of a larger rootkit infection. You need to run TDSSKiller http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363
That should clean out the main infection. Run MalwareBytes afterwards to get all the leftover entries. It also tends to mark folders in program files + documents and settings as "hidden" so you need to manually unhide them so programs work and the start menu is populated again.
You can disable the TDS 'devices' in the Device Manager.
Then, rather than manually unhiding all your stuff, run unhide.exe.
