    Which games to ask for?

My grandpa passed away in Novemember, and I'm visiting my grandma now. He has a bunch of videogames that are just laying in the closet here and a cabinet(locked) as tall as I full of games, as well as about 6 crates full of games in the garage.

Now, obviously, i don't want to ask for them all, but really, I'm the only person who plays games in this family now that he's gone. I want to ask for a few, but don't want to be greedy either.

Going to list some of the games I'm looking at now and see which ones would be worth playing/asking for.

    PS2

    Disgaea: hour of darkness
    Guilty Gear XX core+
    MagnaCarta: Tears of blood
    Castle Shikigami
    Shining force neo
    Unlimited Saga
    Steambot Chronicles
    valkyrie Profile II
    Dragon quest VIII
    Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4
    Ico
    Legion: The legend of Excalibur
    The Spiderwick Chronicles
    Romancing Saga
    Champions: Return to arms
    Grandia III

PS1 For these, I have a modded ps1, so games worth burning onto a disk and playing

    Brigandine: The legend of forsena
    ff8 (I have)
    Dragonquest VII
Chrono Cross (lol, I actually haven't played this one yet)
Caesars place 2000 (lol casnio game)'
    Legend of Legaia
    Gauntlet legends
    Legend of dragoon
    Legend of mana
Lunar 2 eternal blue (now I love this game, I may just ask for it instead of burning it)
    Beyond the Beyond
    Wild Arms
    Wild Arms II

    DS
    Deeper Labyrinth

This is just what was in the closet, gotta be several hundreds of games between the cabinet and crates in the garage.

I don't want to ask for them all, of course. That's just plain greedy. I only want to take a small enough amount to where if she opened the cabinet, or went in the garage, she'd keep w/e memories those collection of games bring to her (even though she hated when she played games lol).

I may update w/ the list of games from the garage later. The cabinet is locked though, so I probably won't even ask for it to be opened for me to see what's in there.

He was awesome, and yea I like RPGs (as did he, obviously). Lol I think he just liked them for the stories though. He wasn't really good at the games themselves. He'd always ask me for gameshark/action replay codes "I just want 999 so I can whack them on the head and get on with the story" lmao

    PS2:
    Persona 4
    Ico
    Dragon Quest VIII

    PS1:
    Chrono Cross
    Legend of Dragoon

Those are the only ones I've played out of the list. All of them I'd recommend asking for.

oh and legend of mana, the chrono games, ico <- doesn't pass those up

My grandpa has ruined 2 TVs playing so much Dr. Mario that the static graphics burned into the screens.

Wow, a copy of Brigandine... that's very rare. Also a very fun game.

If you've played the first Valkyrie Profile, I recommend the 2nd one. ICO is obvious if you haven't played it yet.

Just bust the shit open and steal them all. It's what you'd do otherwise, why change even for family!?

    But your list looks okay.

Ico is a must-play but it's a relatively short game, maybe 4-6 hours at the most with little reason to replay (the US version doesn't even let you save your clear data IIRC). On the other hand you'll get close to 300 hours of enjoyment out of Dragon Quest VIII and Persona 4 if you're a completionist.

All of them are on the internet, so you don't really need to ask for them, do you?

I don't remember you caring about silly things like laws.

Beyond the Beyond is going to bust your balls though. Really, that's why I like it.
