    Deadliest Warrior

    Deadliest Warrior

    Has anyone seen these Episodes?

The episode are also on Youtube. Or TiVo them like I do.

I think they are great! Demos of cool weapons, history of warriors and their weaponry, Trash talk between the warrior experts. Chuck Liddell testing out a Roman scissor was awesome.
    Chuck Liddell with Cestus.

So far, Spartan defeated Ninja, Apache defeated Gladiator, and Samurai defeated Viking.

The next fight is Pirate vs Knight.

Yeah, I love the trash talk each other, and when they call the dummies the opposing warrior. And even dress up the dummies as the other warriors.

The Viking guy throwing two spears at the same time, hitting the targets, and going through 8 inches of solid wood was nice, but the samurai shooting two arrows into the eyes of the Viking was badass.

It's fun to watch. I think I've seen them all so far. I don't always agree with the results but w/e! Can't really decide via a computer program I guess. I'm leaning towards the knight for the next fight mostly because of the armor. And that all comes down to if the pirate's pistol can pierce the armor or not.

My problem is there is way too many obvious flaws in the testing. I still enjoy it, but yeah...

Watching the Viking vs Samurai bit, I have to wonder, why doesn't the viking use his shield to block the arrows?

Seeing as firearms were really the downfall of the heavily armored knight, it should go right through it. Hell even arrows could pierce most armor at a close enough range.

I wondered the same thing. The Viking had the shield but never used it.

The Apache vs Gladiator, they gave the Gladiator a shield even though it wasnt in the list of weapons.

I still love watching the testing.

    Upcoming fights include:

    Yakuza vs. Mafia

Mafia - the deadly crime family that rule New York's 1920's underworld, versus Yakuza - feared gang lords that dominate the mean streets of 1940's Tokyo. Their bloody turf war to decide who is deadliest will be settled with machine guns, sawn off shotguns, pistols, bats, nunchuks and icepicks.

    Green Beret vs. Spetznaz

Green Beret - America's elite special force, versus a Spetznaz - Russia's top-secret, top-notch commandos. Trained to kill anyone, any when, anywhere - these super soldiers use a devastating array of weapons and tactics. It's the best of the west against the best of the east in a post cold war showdown.

    Shoalin Monk vs. Maori

One fights for perfection; the other to honor his ancestors. A Shoalin Monk - the ultimate pacifist killing machine from China versus a Maori - fierce, bone-crushing warrior from New Zealand. Steel whips, metal spikes and wickedly versatile hooks versus wood, shark teeth, stingray spines and stone. The hardest weapon on the battlefield is not made of steel.

    William Wallace vs. Shaka Zulu

Both fight for revenge. Both built an army to spill the blood of their enemies. Deadliest Warrior gets personal with a battle between two of the greatest warrior-generals that ever lived. William Wallace - claymore wielding wild man from Scotland versus Shaka Zulu whose ferocity, speed and toughness became legend.

I've caught every episode. The clips of the Knights mace crushing the ballistic gel skull look pretty sweet.

I've liked all the episodes so far.

If Yakuza loses to Mafia I will be shocked. A better match up would have been Yakuza vs Triads.

I watched the Spartan vs Ninja one on YouTube and was all for the Spartan from the beginning just because of his shield.

The problem with Ninja v Spartan is that A) a ninja would never EVER fight a spartan head on, and b) a spartan never EVER fights alone. So when you have both fighters fighting outside their traditional style, its gonna be a tossup, and what it eventually comes down to is sheer power, which I disagree with. Personally I called the spartan over the ninja, but I thought the viking would win too. Their tests are really flawed, esp. with the samurai because, yes he did put two arrows into the eyes, but it was a stationary target from 15 feet away. No samurai would ever shoot that close, and no viking would stand there and take it. additionally the katana slicing thru multiple pigs was incorrect because it was a vertical chop and the pigs were braced against the table. A more realistic test would be with pigs hanging form a rope like they did in the ninja one.

I only saw the episode with the Apache and gladiator. In that one they paired the weapons each warrior had available in loose categories then gave an advantage to one weapon in each pair, which I assume is how the software made it's decisions. Is that how every episode works? If so it doesn't really factor in the fact that the ninja is never going to be in an open fight with the Spartan.

The videos that they show are just a loose interpretation of the fights. I'm sure with the computer most fights don't end up anything close to that. But again, when it comes to the fight if it's 1v1 it's going to come down to the most experienced fighter and a little bit of luck.

It's like the ninja guy said, "if it was a real fight the ninja would just run away and kill the spartan in his sleep"
