• Patch 1.19 will see the introduction of caravan security duty.

This series of repeatable Grand Company duties tasks players with escorting a caravan of chocobos bearing supplies to nearby hamlets.

• Undertaking Caravan Security

Only those who have pledged their full allegiance to a Grand Company can undertake caravan security. To do so, simply speak to the NPC representing your organization stationed at the following aetheryte camps:

• The Maelstrom: Camp Bloodshore
• The Order of the Twin Adder: Camp Tranquil
• The Immortal Flames: Camp Horizon

The caravan will come under attack en route to its destination. Players must fend off the hostile creatures and see the caravan safely to the hamlet within the allotted time limit. Those who complete the task will earn company seals based on the amount of cargo delivered intact.

• The caravan will come to a halt when enemies appear, and will only resume its march once all enemies are defeated.
* Only participating players can attack duty-specific enemies.
• Chocobos may flee the caravan if they incur too much damage.
• Chocobos that flee will stop a certain distance away from the caravan, but not before losing a unit of cargo.
• Players can coax a chocobo back to the caravan by interacting with it.
• Feeding chocobos their favorite foods recovers their health.
• All chocobos must be present in order for the caravan to resume its march.

• Abandoning Caravan Security

Players can abandon caravan security by speaking with the caravan master NPC and selecting the appropriate option.

Considering how escort are generally the least interesting quests, I'm not particularly thrilled by an event based on that premise.

As long as the NPC AI isn't as bad as it was for the R20 main scenario and R36 CON quest I won't mind too much on escorts.

I remember WoW's escort quests in the beginning were pretty tough to solo.

I see this event failing to provide any entertainment. People will do it for company seals if it pays off big compared to other repeatables.

Currently there isn't really anything besides the couple missions that you can solo for seals so for those of us who don't have dungeon groups it maybe nice. Boring but atleast a way to get seals.

There's no repeatable way to get seals atm. I think this was needed either way.
I just wish you could either change company or buy gear from the other two at a higher price.

Didn't they also say they were adding levequests through companies? If so, then caravan won't be the only repeateable way, right?

Worst case scenario it'll be little more than the summer event but with chocos, ideally it will have significantly more depth to it.

The fact that people are ok with an event/quest possibly being shitty but getting seals saddens me. For the game to get better you should be expecting quality content that is entertaining, this just sounds like boring grinding for seals...

Truth is if you think its going to suck, for you it will, and if you think it may be cool, it may still suck. That said, i look forward to any meat on the bones of this game. If it attracts even a handful of participants thats more interest in the game, making it... more... interesting. 119 should be off the charts overall and another very good step towards an overall ...gameyness ...of this game.
