Ipod headphone jack

Going out in the right ear. Have to wiggle it now and keep it in the same place, which since I ride my bike and jog with will be near impossible Was fine, even this morning. Didn't occur until after school.

Anyone know what could be causing/any potential fixes?

It still works w/ dac/LOD connection, which i can use for biking and general purposes, but def won't work with jogging/running, lol

Did you try a different pair of headphones? I know everytime I've had to wiggle it to get it to work properly it was the headphones, not the mp3 player(and cd player before that). Just a thought, though mine always fails with the left ear first.

Yea, tried w/ another pair of headphones, as well as trying both of those headphones in another device. Issue is only with the Ipod on both pairs.

The jack can be messed up if you typically wrap your headphones around you ipod when you're not using it. That ends up straining the jack itself.

No easy fix for it unfortunately, if it's under warranty they might swap it out.

That was never the case with these headphones. They're not pocket headphones. Big ass studio headphones. I would leave them plugged in however. Just the 5.5 of the 6 foot cord would be wrapped up and shoved in my other pocket, with the other half going from pocket A to pocket B (where my Ipod resides).

Socket is bent, no fix is possible without dismantling ipod. Consult warranty

Take a look at this. Its not specific to an Ipod, but the general knowledge is. The headphone jack on most things is just soldered to the board and the case is responsible for keeping it in place.... This can cause a bad connection if its loose.

Got it used on ebay almost 2 years ago, which it was probably already a few years old when I got it. I don't think it's under warranty, lol
