2.7 Drops Wednesday
It's up on the PTS and it's pretty fun. The new PVP arena is more fun than I thought, but it's totally going to suck on chanter (both free-for-all and one-on-one) and I'm happy that you can skip to stage 7 in EC now.
Anybody else testing it out? Excited? I can't wait to combine my carved nanyu staff with a crucible PVP staff.
-
How many insignias do the new weaps/armor cost and is it really just one 1v1 fight a day you can do?
-
The PVE gear takes a lot of insignia, but the PVP stuff is surprisingly affordable. I don't remember the armor prices, but the PVP weapons are like 28k insignia and 1.8k PVP tokens. I think you can do the chaos (10 man free for all) or discipline (1 on 1) arena once a day for tokens (I think like 30 for complete failure to around 100 for placing well), but there's also a version you can do ("training") that you can do as many times as you want all day. The real arenas are open from 6 PM to 2 PM with a 4 hour break for some reason. Additionally, you can now skip stages 1-6 in the crucible and start at stage 7. You don't get insignia for the first 6 stages, but the last 4 are the money stages anyway.
I was told by somebody who worked there it should only take about 3 weeks to a PVP weapon now.

I'm looking forward to the expanded plat medal dailies, group loot and up to 40x each...That means in about a month my templar will have the eternal pvp gs. I'm all for that.
-
If you've already done 20 of the repeats, does that reset or is it just an extra 20 we receive?
-
PvP Crux is so cute. I get to faceroll everyone thats not MR. :D :D :D :D
-
I fucking suck at it, but I think it's fun. My 48 glad needs to be 55.
-
I get wrecked on my sorc. can't even do anything ppl target me so fast. But its faceroll on my ranger lol. but neither of my characters have any pvp gear aside the pvp bow on my ranger

I mostly just get rolled, but this is another one of those things that, even if you suck at pvp, you'll get your stuff eventually. Whiiiich is nice, since I mostly just want models and a cast speed mace for my chanter (maybe eventually one of those awesome looking cond-2 staves, but mostly for looks).
-
Definitely like the changes to the plat dailies. The mobs respawn after roughly a minute now, and group lootable, along with 20 additional repeats. Even with many other elyos doing the quests, I was still able to run all 4 in about 45 minutes with a small group.
Personally I find the 10 man chaos arena more enjoyable than the 1 v 1 arena. The 1 v 1 arena is painfully boring if you draw a weak opponent who can't put up a fight at all, and I'm sure its frustrating to those who end up getting matched with somebody they are way undergeared in comparison to, while I haven't had a boring chaos arena at all. Even if I am able to pull off a big lead after round 2, 9 others are there to keep me in check for the final round when I get marked and become worth more points.
3 minute blinding bursts and dash attack having its own cooldown are nice changes for sins too.
-
I can survive pretty well on chanter, but I have no offense because I'm a chanter. My cleric is a lot better suited for things, but I have a lot less PVP experience on it.
-
well i got 2 arena tickets again today. if this isnt a bug and they really give 2 a day. gonna be getting that pvp gear so fast. got 3rd place in my ranger yesterday and 60 marks. My 52 ranger in no pvp gear aside bow made me proud lol
-
It's not a bug. I'm up to 8th place. Go chanter, go.
-
some chanter yesterday was tearing ppl apart left and right. It's fun when your not being focus fired by everyone in sight. Doing pve and pvp in those is the best way. since its new ppl kinda ignore the pve stuff but thats easy points
But since we get 2 tickets a day... and since neither of my characters have any pvp gear.. should i work towards the conditioning lv 1 first or lv 2? I figured lv1 to get my gear faster and not be so squishy. and even in last place you get like 30 marks. so 60 a day if your unlucky isnt bad at all
-
looks like with the upgrade system they have in place now that going for the first tier then working towards tier 2 would be the best way to enjoy yourself.
-
A few chanters can be pretty tough, but if you were to take gear out of the equation the chanter loses. No matter what tree you go down you're at a disadvantage in PVP. I'll tweak my stigmas some, but I don't have high hopes for being a serious competitor.
-
4th place, a new personal best on chanter.
-
Had a sin cry in tells about losing because I kited him on SM. I'm sorry, should I have fearlocked you instead?

I got 5th on my sorc! And I don't even pvp :D it was kinda fun, but my next run I got into it with another sorc and we spent half the battle going after each other. Pfft. Also, it's sooo cheap but Shadow walk is a solid way to keep a lead against someone without hide II penetration >.>;;
-
I thought about slotting shadow walk for it, but curious if the marker shows my position during hide or not. I consistently enter the final round with a 5k+ lead then wind up getting zerged down to 2nd or 3rd, probably because of the damn mark on me lol.
