    Rooting/Android on a Nook Color 1.3.0?

I'm having a pretty hard time on putting android on my girlfriends nook color.

It seems like to me, that firmware 1.3.0 broke majority of the tools to put android on the device.

Tried following the guide here: http://nookworks.blogspot.com/2011/0...oot-my-nc.html

and a few on XDA forums..... but I can't seem to get anywhere with it. Half the time, the memory card does not format correctly.... and when it does appear to format correctly, the device does not want to turn on with the memory card in.

Anyone have some advice on where I should look for this stuff?

    *note*

I thought it was a memory card issue, so i've tried 3 different cards, all from different company's with same result. Pretty sure its user error

Ok, the main problem i'm having is with WinImage.....

I just realized that this nook color is a "blue dot" version, which requires a different clockwork file than others. Downloaded that file, and now when I try to make the SD card with WinImage it goes to 1 %.... then stops, and says its finished. Which of course its not

You want this guide, it covers the blue-dot versions. CM is also the most popular ROM to put in place of the default.

Thank you for the link! Didn't even realize she had a bluedot version.

CM7 is now installed and running, just can't get the market to install now..... however, its progress!

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

posting this to hopefully remind me when I get home to ask my hubby. He has a rooted nook color so he'll probably be able to help.

i had no problem getting to the market, but getting the download links for apps inside of it to show up took some tweaking. i'll try to remember to look up exactly what i did when i am home and i'll post it. changing the pixel density was one thing, along with clearing the market's app data & a few other things. i run it completely off of the sdcard, it's slow but it works (i've read there's no performance hit using the sd card as opposed to the internal storage, it's just slow regardless).
