    Opinion on new Mobo

Wondering if anyone knows if there is a huge difference between the AMD 880g and 990x Northbridge chipsets for AMD boards. I just saw Newegg was having a sale on a Biostart Micro ATX board for only 55$.

Now i'm looking to upgrade my board since it only has 785g chipset and is pretty blah. I'm not looking for a rig that will make Crysis 2 look life like, but I want something to actually benefit me for awhile that I won't have to upgrade and can put in better RAM.

I'm also thinking of just waiting till Black Friday since it's close and see if any good boards come up for sale as well.

That said, are there any major differences between a chipset upgrade like the one I said (880 to 990) or is it rather minor?

I just checked out the chipsets on Wikipedia. It looks like the only real difference between the two is that the 880g has an integrated GPU and will do hybrid crossfire, while the 990x has no integrated GPU but support for 8x + 8x pcie xfire support.

If you don't plan on using multiple video cards, it will probably be good for you. But you never know what will turn up on Black Friday.
