Computer Displays No Devices or Printers halp

My computer for some odd reason states that I have no devices or printers, when I go to devices and printers through the control panel. I know damn well I have devices and printers but for some reason it will not display them. The all work fine which is why this is irritating me, what happens if at some point I want to tweak with them through this setting?

did you upgrade from Vista to Win7?

also what devices do you have, just printers, or should more things be showing up? and what antivirus if any do you have installed?

i hadn't seen this problem before but after some googling it looks like a lot of people get it. it's most likely due to the printer drivers & IE8 (do you have 9 installed?). depending on what AV you have installed i would probably turn it off, uninstall your printers (run printmanagement.msc to get to the printer manager), download the most updated drivers, reinstall them, reinstall/turn on the AV again. this is just a guess though, you might want to reply back with what devices & AV you actually have installed before doing it. it also looks like running the system file checker (sfc/scannow) could sometimes fix it.

if neither of these worked there is a re-registration of IE8/9 that you can do, which also might help (these are all "mights", sorry). link:

which version you use depends on your versions of windows & IE

    good luck

No I didn't upgrade from vista and I did actually do the IE9 upgrade so windows update would stop bitching about it. The devices I use are a blue tooth dongle, printer, mouse, keyboard, and ps3 remote. I think this happened after either installing motionjoy drivers or dling my printers drivers. It could be either one I'm not too sure. I use firefox though

I think I know what your problem is. I've encountered this before while installing my PS3 controller with my blue tooth. Did you use the lib-32xx driver file ? If so, this is a known problem that it can disable all forms of USB drives or devices all together. I recommend you uninstall it and look for a suitable version for your OS.

I used the 64 bit driver, it didnt disable any drivers they just don't show up.(unless this is what you mean) Everything works perfectly fine. I also didn't use the blue tooth with my ps3 controller just the wired. edit: after booting up in safe mode they now show up o.O Or maybe it was because of windows update
