Aight, so FFXI is out of the question
FFXIV has ran it's course (being stuck on the fucking Role play server has gimped any progress on my relic quest, unless i get discharged from the military, have my wife support me, and gain 60lbs) until 2.0

I've never played WoW, but the graphics litterly offend the shit out of me. I downloaded the trial last night, made a panda guy and litterly about puked because they look worse that XI's (like i don't know how you can argue that WoW's graphics are better than XI's your fucking stupid if you think this, their engine may run 1000% smoother but it looks 1000% shittier)

Tera was a flop, Aion is.... meh

I'm probably gonna download darksouls on steam, but I really wanted a good MMO. Should I get GW2? I didn't hear any super huge complaints when it launched, unlike diablo3.
Otherwise i've got League of Legends, and that's about it.

Is there any clout to playing EVE? or going back to rifts? (had a level 50 rouge when i quit)

You pretty much identified your options.

With EVE, unless you're doing things with people (which like all cat herding operations, is a time sink) solo stuff is your major option. Mining, ratting, manufacturing, market playing, repeatable missioning. That said, with market playing, you can do some crazy economic MASSIVE e-peen swinging with very little time in game, if you know what you're doing, (or can database and spreadsheet like a motherfucker). EVE has options to match your playtime, but the feature you want to do may not be the feature that matches the play time you have.
But, with passive SP, your character keeps gaining skills for the days/weeks/months/years you can't play if you pop in and manage your skill queue (and you can ethically buy PLEX to sell for ISK). So, when you DO have time, the game is there for you and you aren't way behind everyone else. And there are always useful things for you to do, whether you are a new low SP/poor ISK player, mid tier, or an ancient SP monster.
(Also, if you want in the universe, there's DUST 514, a PS3 FPS that's literally tied in to EVE's server, one big universe to influence, if you want a shooter/RPG with MMO consequences.)

I don't really know much about GW2, but from what I understand, it gives you all the classic MMO gameplay you love, but with a structural focus on killing that cat herding, time sink bullshit as much as possible. So, if you want the same-old, but to fit with your availability, GW2 may be for you. But I can't guarantee it, I don't know GW2 as well as EVE. Someone else should take that one.

EVE and GW2 are polar opposites when it comes to MMOs. EVE is super hardcore spreadsheet reading wtf is happening gameplay. GW2 is the most casual MMO experience you will ever find in vidya ever. There is literally no reason to party with anybody in the open world because you are already, for all intents and purposes, partied with everybody in the open world.

Could always start playing DayZ but you'll be dealing with a shitload of glitches and hackers since it's still in the Alpha stage. Fun as hell though if you're into zombie games. Excruciatingly difficult as well. Be warned though it's got some pretty intense system requirements. And don't even think about playing it on a laptop. Tried to do that once on mine thought it was going to explode. It's honestly the most creeped out I've ever been playing a game. Laying in some grass as three zombies walk past you literally within reaching distance hoping they don't notice me while I'm attempting to get away from a sniper who has been chasing me for ten minutes. Shit is intense. It's got some problems(server resets wiping out your gear, random respawns when you log in, etc) but it's definitely fun as hell to play.
