internet issues

I'm losing my mind here.... This problem has been going on for a year now. I have no choice in my area but to use AT&T. My internet decides for itself when it wants to work. It can go for days without working at times. I am not retarded. I know to reset, go to it's 192. website, etc.

So when it started a year ago, I of course called and they gave the written down unplug it speech. They agree to send out a tech who shows up days later to inform me that at the road everything is fine. At my box outside everything is fine. This little song and dance goes on during the first year.

I have since replaced the modem with a new one just to be sure it's not that. I have replaced the wall jack to be sure it's not that. They come out each time I call and tell me they "tweaked" something at the road and it may work for a bit each time. Usually when they get here, like any car at the mechanics..... it's working fine.

The initial line they put in was buried from the road to my house by them. I can think of no other reason for this bullshit. I can't play any games as it seems that under load it'll drop connection quickly. Sometimes for a day, often for only a second, but enough to get me disconnected. They all but refuse to bury a new line saying that isn't the problem.

I need opinions or options. I wish to god charter came to where I live but no... AT&T only offers 6Mbps as their fastest speed..... but it doesn't matter when I pay them to not have service at all.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you, try Verizon's home service called HomeFusion. It would more than likely be way faster and more reliable than your AT&T service (which goes through your phone line). Let me know what it says after you type in your address there.
