Recent Windows update borking memory?

After the last windows update a friend of mine and I have been having issues with memory. It seems to be having trouble with dumping the cache or something to that extent because i'll have maybe 2GB in use and 12 GB cached. I'm wondering if anyone else has been experiencing this issue? If so how to fix and is it related to the recent windows update?

Hmmm? There's Total, Cached, Available, and Free in my task manager. How are you differentiating "in use" and "cached"?

Why would it just dump the cache? The entire point of Windows caching data to the RAM is so that it can quickly access it when you start up the program, the more RAM you have the more Windows will cache because empty RAM is wasted RAM. When a program needs more RAM then windows will ditch some of the cached content for the program to use. Unless I'm misunderstanding the issue (you seem to be worried about the amount cached?)

Yeah after a day of usage on my PC, usually theirs anywhere from 10-12GB of cache and near 0 free RAM. overall reducing disk read, and faster loading of programs. Nothing to worry about. Now if you had 12GB used, and not much open, I would be worried (unless you've left firefox 64bit open for about a week with 5+ windows and 100+ tabs)
