Sorry If this didn't deserve its on topic, not really sure.

so I downloaded photoshop the other day to mess around with. Right now im working on removing a person and putting them in a different setting (background) 2 questions. Three questions. How do I save the image when I'm done with it. 2 whats the best way to remove someone from the image? Make a mask with the selecting thing or put the picture with the person over the background and erase the background of the person. 3) How do i blind the two images? You can easily tell the photo is photoshoped because of the lighting. The person stands out a lot against the new background.

It's extremely difficult to emulate natural lighting from a real setting in a photograph. The best scenario is where you're placing the cut into a picture with similar light settings. Depending on the setting and the content of what I'm trying to re-position, I would do Magic Erase, or some times erasing the background as you've mentioned. More often then not, its a mix of both. The real trick to that kind of stuff is all about how compatible your images are. I've managed to erase entire people from pictures, deformations in structures, re-do a muggy day into mildly cloudy and sunny, all without it looking as if it were photoshoped, that is to the untrained eye. Although I do believe the most difficult thing is finding the right set of images to use. Otherwise have fun, make it look intentionally bad, paste the people in crooked with jagged edges as if they are magazine cut outs. (Blending Options are the bees knees)

As for saving? <_<? Save As, either png(jpeg is fine, although I prefer png) or as a psd if you decide to continue to work on it or do touch ups later on.

Also there is really no quick way to make lighting and shadows etc look like they all belong, sometimes you will have to manually adjust the lighting direction and even create fake shadows etc. It takes a good eye, but in the end you sometimes have to treat it like a good painting when finishing up.

The Image > Adjustments drop down menu has a lot of options for changing the overall color / contrast / hue / everything of a selection. A lot of it is trial and error.
