During the above time period, the amount of experience points gained by slaying monsters will be doubled.
* The Dedication effect gained from experience bonus equipment will also be doubled.

* Experience points earned by completing certain types of content or via the use of items will not be doubled.

Weird idea imo O.o If it won't include e.g. FoV then that won't matter too much will it? Dunno how people do things now, but before it was mainly FoV > Abyssea, no?

This would have been a fantastic idea back at Lv.75 pre-level sync era, or hell even during level sync, but with a vast majority of the community having most or all of their desired jobs to 99 this seems rather pointless.

I agree, but it's a shame that you'll only get 3 runs in, since it's a 3-day event.

If Fields of Valor is not included then there is no reason to do this. FoV or better yet GoV would probably still be faster than running around fighting things randomly.

Well, I guess when you're successful in your niche and don't have to worry about your "core" players ever leaving, there's never an incentive to provide a bonus.

Wish FFXI was like other MMOs and gave double exp events as recompense for server down time or as a gift during New Years/Xmas events.

I can get nearly an entire trial done with an anniversary type ring in 2 dynamis runs so I can hopefully knock out most of a trial per piece then fuck around after the event to get the last tiny bit of exp.

Well, I guess when you're successful in your niche and don't have to worry about your "core" players ever leaving, there's never an incentive to provide a bonus.

The issue isn't that they're late, but that we have better sources for XP. This only affects Dynamis related stuff for people that have used Abyssea extensively. Reaping 300k/hr (Or greater if you can manage to use that XP) is quite a leap compared to LV75 XP. Lets say 10 fold? Maybe 30 fold for noobs lol.

Yep exactly what I was going to say. Even if the bonus is 3 days only, that still cuts farming down 1 day for unlocking a piece.

Seekers of Adoulin™ (JP: アドゥリンの魔境, DE: Im Banne Adoulins, FR: Explorateurs d'Adoulin) will be the fifth full expansion for Final Fantasy XI and is currently in development for all three supported platforms (although the Playstation 2 version will not be released outside of Japan). In the United States and Europe, the PC version will be released as a digital download while the Xbox 360 version will be released on disc. Both versions of the game will be released in two formats: the FINAL FANTASY® XI: Seekers of Adoulin™ expansion pack and the FINAL FANTASY® XI: Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition which will also include the base game software and all previous expansion packs and scenarios.
