Help figuring out whats wrong with my modem

So for the last two days I've been having an issue with my cable modem (Motorola surfboard). I'm only getting two solid green lights (Power and pc activity) and therefore no internet. I've tried resetting it, unplugging every cable connected to it for a couple of hours, and everything else that customer support will tell you to do. Everything I do gives me the same result: the power light flashes then turns solid, then the receive light does the same, then the send light. When it gets to the online light, it just flashes for about 10 secs until it just stays off. At that point the receive and send lights just flash nonstop simultaneously. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Probably something on your ISP's side. Likely the cabling between their nodes and your house.

The Motorola Surfboard's management IP should be 192.168.100.1. Connect a PC directly to it and see what it says. Most likely it is an ISP thing though, I've seen similar behavior before.

Well I have my cable tv with the same company and its working fine. Even checked the on-demand and that's working too. If it IS an isp thing, though, is it likely to be something they can repair remotely or am I gonna have to wait for them to come out?

They could possibly do it remotely by refreshing your IP or assigning you a new IP segment from the node. Cable TV and on-demand pipe through strictly the copper, your internet is being translated by your modem, thus not working. I find that most of the time it's best to just tell them your modem isn't working so they replace it, so just complain until they do that.
