WTS ASUS G73JW Republic of Gamers Laptop

Originally bought from BG user Franzer, the laptop is still in great condition and I no longer have a use for it now that I have graduated. I hope its no big issue, but here is the original post. I have also been whitelisted on B/S/T several times, and I will cover shipping costs.

This is a fantastic laptop and will handle most games with ease. I will include the laptop case I use for it, as the laptop is fairly large. All specs listed below. Sorry the pictures aren't the best, if you're interested, I can send you more. Looking for $500, please PM me.

Holy crap this is a deal!
I bought mine for $550 + $50 shipping off of ebay (Asus G73SW, roughly the same exact model, only with 3D out capability). This laptop screams in modern games. I even installed a samsung SSD 120gb harddrive and dualbooted MacOSX & Windows on it now. I'm very happy with my purchase. Nice speakers too for a laptop. I would have loved this price If I saw it. Mind you it is 17.3'', so it's a bit big. But I love it.
I haven't OC'd it yet, but even then this is what I get:
    GW2 mid-max gfx at 40+ fps
BlOps 2 Max gfx at 20-50+ fps
    Assassin's Creed 3 mid gfx 30+ fps singleplayer/multiplayer
    Borderlands 2 Max 30+fps

Anything else I'm sure it'll dominate it. A solid gaming laptop.
It's very quiet even when cpu is getting heavily used.
Only complaint is to make sure you dust it every once in a while otherwise it'll heat up. (An easy process to do without the need of much.)
This is a steal. An Epic Steal at that.

That is true, I've had to grab a new backpack to have it fit as well. It's a tank. But I can't part from my little baby <3

Yeah I can't deny, its quite the beast in terms of size but the trade-off for performance is definitely worth it, borderlands2 and ffxi run really well, even better than my desktop lol.

I've thought about pulling the trigger but I've heard this model has a problem with overheating (even though I'd only use it at home).

Original poster here who sold it to ikariiii. The laptop will run hot when under heavy load, but in terms of laptop cooling, the Asus ROG series have some of the best. In the back of the laptop there's two exhaust ports that do a solid job of keeping it cool, only under long gaming sessions if you're using the keyboard will the top of the keyboard get hot, but I'd recommend an actual keyboard anyway.

Agreed, it will run hot for sure (have yet to find a laptop that doesn't). However, it will especially get hot if you don't have a stand or external cooler for it for it, as it has additional exhaust fans on its bottom.

The laptop is still available, and I have two potential buyers but feel free to ask any questions you have or PM with offers.
    Thanks for checking!

I have heard negative comments about certain coolers used on laptops.
My G73SW hasn't overheated at all, UNLESS I didn't clean out the dust. I've had gaming sessions of a good 10 hours+ (mega lan party, woo! That was fun :D) without it overheating.

Cool. Yeah, I read some reviews and I always look for the bad ones first but the downside of looking for those is that it's usually people you know don't know shit about computers.

I personally replaced the thermal paste on my GPU and CPU as I was getting heat related crashes on my laptop. Works fine now and has been for about 2-3 years.
