Not sure if I want..........
I already went through buggy + long-waits-for-patch-hell with both Battlefield 1 & 2 already, where-as the dumbed-down console brethren is near perfect from the get-go.
1943 was fun. Don't knock it till you try it.
Also I am looking forward to Bad Company 2 that was even better than 1943.
Honestly.. if it's not WW2, I'm okay. I'm getting sick of the WW2 games. This looks like more modern warfare which is fun. I just hope it's not a clone of BF2.
Fuck yeah BF3![]()
fuck yes bf3, i loved being a medic in bf2
niggas FUCK YEA!

Basically BF3 for PC doesn't support XP. The consoles however will be differently compared to the PC version of BF3.Frostbite 2 is primarily developed for DX11. XP & DX9 is _not_ supported, 64-bit OS is recommended. Lots of time to upgrade if you havent!
no fun zone
About time. As good as DX 9 has been it's time to move on and start focusing on 64 bit OS's so games can start using more than 2 GB RAM.
This + Skyrim + ME3 should warrant an upgrade later this year :3

Every few months, EA sends a demo reel around its studios and offices, showing off what they’re working on. The latest of such “demo reels” features a video of Battlefield 3, according to a NeoGAF forum member, who works at EA. He said:
“I saw that BF3 had guns, explosions, vehicles, large maps and was played from the first person perspective. I got a few flashes of the HUD, but have no idea about how they’re evolving the game’s play mechanics.”
The demo reels are distributed among EA’s marketing staff, to stay in the loop on what the company is doing. If they already have a demo reel of Battlefield 3, perhaps a public unveiling of the game is not that far away. It might be revealed as early as GDC in April, where DICE is scheduled to give talks.

The franchise that revolutionized online multiplayer for PC games is back.
In our world-exclusive cover story, Game Informer unveils the first numbered entry in the Battlefield series since 2005. Many longtime fans are wondering, "what took so long?!" DICE has honed the concept for the true sequel for years, but it wasn't until the company developed the powerful new Frostbite 2 engine that it felt all the pieces were in place to create a proper follow-up. Armed with powerful upgrades like deferred rendering, real-time radiosity, a new animation system borrowed from the EA Sports label, and an exponential leap in destructibility, executive producer Patrick Bach dubs Frostbite 2 "the best piece of technology on the market when it comes to building games."
You'll have to read the magazine to get the dirt on what DICE has in store for the single-player and multiplayer modes, but check back here and visit the official Battlefield 3 site tomorrow to watch the premiere teaser trailer and glean a few more key details.
Frequent the Battlefield 3 hub throughout the month of February for more exclusive features about the highly anticipated shooter coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC.
I came, I will again tomorrow, and I will on the 1st of march.
Just noticed this part

Competitive: 64-Player (PC) 24-Player (Console)
inb4 pages of pc elitists
edit: obviously 64 player is superior, not claiming otherwise, but this is the sort of thing that tends to start "heated discussions"
I don't think anyone was expecting the console version to be better(lol) or the same as the PC version seeing how big of a franchise the main BF series is on PC. I thought that was the main reason for the bad company spin-off in the first place, a consolized version of Battlefield. Not to mention DICE already said previously they were putting special attention in to the PC version to try and keep the fans happy.
Hopefully the maps scale the playing field to size like earlier PC BFs, rather than just cramming 3x the amount of players into the same space.
This is going to be the same shit as BFBC and MOH.
