Launch Party at PAX Prime

Ready to do the Chocobo Shuffle? The Mog Twist? Some Limit Breakdancing? Then you'll need to hightail it to next week's PAX Prime, where the crew of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be throwing a two-day launch party.

The festivities start on Friday, August 30th and continue through the next day in the Seattle Ballroom at the Red Lion Hotel. The devs will show up to make their grand remarks, followed by autograph sessions, contests, raffle drawings, and hands-on gameplay sessions. It's here that you'll get to see FFXIV, not in the main PAX exhibit hall, so make plans accordingly if you want to be part of the celebration!

I only have a pass for Mondays stuff.

You probably won't need a PAX pass to get into the launch party. I'm debating going myself even though I couldn't get a pass.

Some of the events outside the main hall did require the pass. I know last year they started ramping up the pass checks too. For GW2 launch party last year they only checked ID for drinking, but the location was well outside the PAX zones. Going to try Twittering to make sure.

A rep commented on the official forums that a PAX pass will be needed to enter.

Amazingly, I was able to buy a PAX pass for that Friday before they were sold out, and I took the day off of work too! I'll be at the Potion Party later that evening at Raygun Lounge. It's for gaymers, but gamers are welcome too.

I printed out the legacy logo to stick on my 1.0 CE box art so I feel less guilty about having the devs sign it. I hope Toshio Murouchi is there! I need that cute blinking "hai hai hai" man to draw a pug on my box. :3

The potion party was fun last year but the little restaurant that was serving the drinks pretty much gave up on serving food at all. I guess it was a good thing that the drinks were decent.

Might want to bring something for them to write with, if you're going that route. When I went to a Distant Worlds concert to have Nobuo sign one of their promo flipbook things, his marker didn't work out so well on those laminated/plastic-y pages.
