Communicating with other servers

Hey All, quick question. I'm on Ridill but have ex-FFXI buddies on a bunch of different servers in XIV. How do I communicate with them?

Can I add them to friend list then invite them to LS? That would be all kinds of awesome but I'm guessing not possible?

during beta I remember people(like me) raging that you can't talk during instances/duty finder since you are not on the same server, I'm GUESSING, so don't take my word for it, that square is actually incapable/not interested in a cross-server comunication, or they would have made it available for duty finder too.

But hope someone that knows more answers, I might be mistaken, though I don't feel it knowing square lately...

Negative there, They disabled tells during instances to prevent people from trash talking. Why they believe people would stick with tells for trash talk instead of party chat i have no idea.
