Since RQT is dead, I have to make a thread to ask this.
AOE thunder debuffs for stun staves include:
Enervation
sch/drk or drk/sch doing manifestation absorb-mnd
sch doing manifestation ionohelix
any others I overlooked?

pretty sure you can't use Manifestation on helices
-Shock
-Geo-Malaise/Indi-Malaise(If you team up with a GEO they can just keep up Malaise and kill the mobs inside the bubble. No worries about shit wearing off before you finish the nuke.
I actually have geo on my mule (thats upgrading staff), so I can just keep malaise on her and kill stuff w/ nyn. Awesome, thx
I thought geo debuffs didn't count for trials?
geo debuffs dont work, atleast indi ones dont
i think i read Geo spells not workin was a glitch to be fixed. Im not sure cause the SCHs i was with might have been castin absorb mind but i was tryin to help a friend out by thunderbolting and then charged whiskering them to death on my blu. my theory was that stun would count as a debuff for thunder, and that i could kill them before thunderbolts stun wore.
those 2 and shock are your best bet. obviously I would either go with enervation or mainfestation absorb-mnd with mass pulls.
I did my trials solo on sch when embrava was unnerfed. I think you could do it now too, put embrava up, pull mobs -----> AoE debuff ----> AoE kaustra ----> if you have a mule let him aoe nuke ----> dead mobs.
Although Enervation says it's Dark based on our spell list I was getting credit for -recast staff, that's how I did my trial back when they came out, to this day I'm not sure if it's a bug or intended that way.
The short answer is, the icon before the spell name does not always denote the element of the spell. In most cases it does, but not for spells that impart multiple debuffs or are part of a series of multiple debuffs.
For example:
All the Absorb-Spells for DRK have a black icon yet each Absorb-Spell's element is that of the antagonist of the Element being absorbed. i.e Absorb-MND= Thunder Based because MND is a Water-Based Attribute so Thunder>Water. Enervation has a Black Icon as well but the elemental debuffs it grants are Thunder/Wind(MDef.Down/Def.Down). I believe the case was also similar for Full Break which gives multiple debuffs and is I think a light blue icon for Ice.
Is it true that the icon next to the spell is always the element it checks resistance against? I know the absorb spells all go against dark resistance, and not the resistance of their enfeebles.
I just did these trials.
For worms, I went into a worm party and casted Shock on every mob the ally engaged and let them kill it. Nothing had time to wear off.
For lizards and colibri, i teamed up with a BLU in my shell, and we pulled everything, slept them, Enerveration > Charged Whisker. It normally killed every mob in the pull.
For Hecteyes, I solo'd the mobs in Abyssea-Tah as BLM/RDM. Used atma of MM, Lion, and Blinding Horn. I set up two macros, one with Shock > Thunder V, and the other with Shock > Thunder 2 > Thunder IV.
With the new staves that have M.ACC out the ass, is the main reason for making the magian staff primarily the -Recast for SCH/BLM setups?
A bit off topic, but is the resist element for terror dark based? I just know quite a few ice based monsters have terror effects, such as hybrid elementals. Spell icon is dark based though.
Terror is non elemental
Anything link to back that up? Didn't know such a thing existed as far as enfeebles go.
There's some evidence for it in this thread.
