New lvl 50 How to get into endgame

I've been looking around and i've found some conflicting information about how to start up endgame.

just hit 50 on one of the new servers SE made so there really isn't an established endgame FC or community there yet so I'm looking for some info.

For the record I'm a War, that plans to level Pld as well.

Ok where do I start? I have af of course but which dungeon's can get my feet wet and maybe gear me up a bit before I try ifrit hard mode? Or is that really even necessary? When should I put on the breaks and seriously gear up before I try a hard primal?

I'm currently finishing up t2 hunts for my GC and then w/e the quest is after that to unlock final tier weapons. Should I just do this or can I farm a weapon for endgame some place else?

Armor questions: best place to farm starting out, final goals, final materia/melds that I should look into.

Relic: a friend told me that if I do a relic I should do Pld first, so is he correct and is war relic really worth it?

That's it for now, any help is appreciated.

Wanderer's Palace is the best place to start if you're a fresh level 50 looking to farm Philosophy tomes. Get the greens there while working on Darklight gear. Use Duty Finder or go to Mor Dhona and look for shouts. Wanderer's Palace also drops Darklight weapons which are on par with the GC weapons.

If you get a Darklight weapon and some green armor, you're pretty much set to tank Ifrit. Anything after that will require getting some Darklight gear to avoid getting spiked. You'll want to run AK as well to get Mythology tomes, since it's needed to gain access to your Relic +1.

I don't have WAR leveled so I can't really answer the relic question, but the special thing about PLD is you get both Sword and Shield, so it's kinda more bang for your buck.

Since I'm nearly 50 I'd like some input on this to. So it's pretty much doing dungeon runs for Philosophy tomestones/Darklight then step up to avatars until you're geared up enough for Coil of Bahamut?

As long as the party has a BLM or SMN to use LB on nails, Ifrit Hard is not really much of a gear check so consider him in the same bracket as Wanderer's.

    Easiest way.

In the range of 2640(ish)-4515 Tomestones, or at current clear rates, or 18-31 hours spent in the same dungeon for each class you play.

Less if Amdapor gear is better or that you realize a lot (most) of Darklight is shit. Even then, you're still looking at probably two pieces of DL (1320ish) or close to 9 hours in the dungeon, plus time spent farming for specific pieces of Ampador gear.

You could also be farming Lv70 items, in which case you may need 1-3 items for each synth, or 8-24h for each piece of gear that you want crafted.

You can also go the melded iLv55 route which is easy to HQ, even without HQ materials (any crafter who knows anything can do this with relative ease). Melding the items can be tough due to prices on new servers and shit.

tl;dr - qq about speed running, glitching, or whatever, I feel bad for anyone not already geared up because this game is grindy as fuck.

If you plan on playing the tank role, the advantages are that currently the geared for WAR and PLD is shared. To that end, you ought to level both jobs since they will benefit "equally". Both are viable in a shit's-situational kind of way; WAR for dungeons and additional DPS when in the tank role, and PLD for its ability to mitigate heaps of damage when played properly.

To echo--be ready for the grind. HDL is good to shoot for in the end game environment. Shitty thing is when replacing gear, you gotta replace two of those pieces with two slots since HDL has body/head and leg/feet gear, so be ready for that annoyance.

(Some of) The accessories are good at least... right? I'd hate to think that you need to blow 1000ish tomestones for a crafted accessory when you can just buy a Darklight one for 300ish.

Darklight isn't amazing, but it's certainly an upgrade from AF. If you need some quick upgrades but don't want something that will be replaced like 50h later, at least get the jewelery.

Imperial Operatives w/melds is usually better than DL and anyone can HQ that from NQ.

    Would buy:
    DL Eyepatch of Aiming
    HDL Body
    DL Corselet of Aiming
    HDL Gauntlets
    DL Bracer's of Striking
    DL Tassets
    DL Hunting Belt
    HDL Flanchard
    DL Caligae of Aiming

The mage stuff varies with your content, a friend has the Allagan BLM body and still has to use the DL Casters Cloak at times for that big accuracy bump. He hasn't melded sick jewelry yet though. The legs/feet for both are good though. Some of the Hero accessories for WHM/SCH are tits to go for first in terms of stats gained over DL.

Some of that stuff has Ampador gear of identical stats but obviously slightly less of them, and some of the Ampador gear is just better.

For jewelry, you get say, 9str/12crit/6det from DL bracelet.

ImpOpHQ is 7str/7dex (can use on both jobs) 11 skill speed 8 crit and with 2 melds ->12 crit and 4 det. Easily has room for VIT (useful), accuracy and 2 more determination.

If you're going to get 1 lv70 accessory, Rose Gold Ear Screws HQ is the way to go. Only 9 ore and plenty of stats.

    Uldahn Officer's Boots: Strength +8 Dexterity +8 Vitality +8 Determination +10 Skill Speed +10 Sanction:Critical Hit Rate +16

Eyepatch: Dexterity +12 Vitality +14 Accuracy +11 Critical Hit Rate +16
Militia Barbut (NQ): Strength +8 Dexterity +8 Vitality +8 Critical Hit Rate +11 Determination +5 (2 sockets)

    [edit: can't read]

I do like the corselet, though.

Don't have access to the HQ stats offhand, but those were my plans over DL (unless Sanction does not persist through death). Not sure whether I'll need accuracy melds, though.

When I looked at the choices, the first step above non-DL 1.0 gear looked to me to be the stuff listed above, plus Imp.Op choker, Imp.Op wristlets, and DL rings/earrings/belt.

Aren't all the hero accessories bought with mythstones? From what I can tell, they are better than DL accessories across the board.

Yes they're myth stones. The reason the healing ones are great is that critical hit rate and MND/PIE combo together. The melee hero stuff misses the boat on great secondary bonuses like that.

Hey Lim. Glad you're playing. Should've rolled on Hyperion though.

Don't bother with materia (edit: okay, it's worth it, but it shouldn't be your focus AT FIRST).

Ifrit Hard can be done in AF with a PUG. It's a joke. Just bring a good stunner (literally the only important thing in this fight).

Garuda Hard on the other hand has a major DPS check in Stage 2. You will need a set of DDs in at least 50% Darklight to consistently clear it due to the green tether's regen.

Admapor Keep has a DPS check on Demon Wall. You need some good gear to finish it off quickly. I would recommend doing DD > AV > WP and once you get a Darklight weapon, spam AK until you get a full set of AK gear with maybe 1-2 pieces of Darklight. Then you can begin your relic quest without being a detriment to the group (Hydra is no joke and Garuda requires good gear - let's not talk about Titan).
