Loved Rayman Origins and that looks like that plus a lot more. Better be a launch title so I have something to buy with my Wii-U.

I will hunt down every newborn baby if this is not multi-platform.
    Spoiler: show
On a more serious note, I'm going to miss the flat shading on the characters, it made them stand out nicely amongst the chaos in some of the later levels of Origins.

Also am happy that Origins did 'ok' enough for Ubisoft to front another project. Was honestly expecting Origins to be a one-off deal.

Video is apparently just a concept of what they would like to have for Legends(ie don't take as final). Might have to try out Origins now.

necro bump, but at least something good came out of the delay: http://www.joystiq.com/2013/04/10/ra...veral-new-bos/
Rayman Legends' extra time in the oven has resulted in developer Ubisoft Montpelier adding 30 extra levels and several new boss fights. "Trust me, the things we are adding aren't minor. We're not talking about adding some polish here and there, but 30 new levels and several new bosses," Senior Game Manager Michael Micholic said in an interview with Official Nintendo Magazine.

Rayman Legends has been delayed twice, the most recent delay last month when it got pushed to September in favor of a simultaneous launch across Wii U, Xbox 360 and PS3. The reception of this latest delay was negative, to say the least, with even Rayman creator Michel Ancel joining in on the protest.

For reference, Rayman Origins had 66 levels. That's a whole lot of fucking levels being added in.

Also lol @ my earlier post. Sorry WiiU owners for the delay.

August 30th? Website says September 3rd is the release date.

Unless the 30th is for a different region?

PS3/360 Demo dates - August 14 in Europe and August 20 in North America
Today, Ubisoft announced that a demo for Rayman Legends, the highly anticipated platformer developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, will be available to download on Xbox Live online entertainment network from Microsoft and the PlayStation Network. The demo will be live on both platforms in Europe on August 14 and in North America on August 20.

The legendary demo of Rayman Legends will feature three different levels from across the Rayman universe as well as a look into the competitive Invasion Mode. Playable maps include Teensies in Trouble and A Toad Story, along with their Invasion Mode counterpart level, and a fan-favourite musical map themed to the song ‘Black Betty.’ The demo will also include access to the Gallery of Heroes where players can swap costumes of their character, and various trailers for the game.

At the same time, Ubisoft is pleased to reveal a walkthrough video highlighting a new musical map available in the game. Titled “Gloo Gloo”, this map takes place in the stealthy underwater world, 20,000 Lums Under the Sea.

I absolutely loved Rayman Origins. I'm sort of liking the new art style, but prefer the old one of Origins. This is a release day buy because it's $40 on Steam. If you preorder on Steam, they'll toss in a free Origins as an added bonus.

I gave up for my copy, tired of the wait (even if it's in 3 weeks)

    I'll buy it later probably

Played the Demo last night with friends and had a great time. I'm digging the new art style, although it does get a bit "flashy" on screen. A lot of bright colors everywhere.

They got rid of some annoying things of the previous game like hitting each other while running and now players will automatically drop out if they idle too long, which when they come back they don't loose all their gold Lums gained when they played (Which were lost if you left the game in Origins). Some neat things I saw were that loading screens now provide a gameplay purpose as you can get heart containers in them and the end-level Electoons system is replaced by a standard Bronze/Silver/Gold trophy reward. You can only gain Electoons by saving them inside the levels. It may also just be the Demo, but you get all the fairy powers you got from the previous game instantly. This may be so that new powers be unlocked as you continue the game, or it just may be a Demo build; I'm not sure.

I have mixed feelings about the new main feature which is an ally that changes the level for you. It can be seen in the WiiU version of the game as the person with the touch tablet. They changed the PC version of it where we have to press Y on the Xbox Controller to automatically activate certain platforming sections and using the LB and RB. The AI can be a bit tricky to use but it's still workable. It would have been so cool if they added an app on a tablet or smartphone in order to control the new character, but I guess they didn't want to allow non-WiiU users to use it. It does allow for epic-tier trolling of friends.

I just prepurchased the game, which came with a free version of Rayman: Origins as an add on to your pre-install. Although I already had the game, I still saw Steam trying to install it. It is not an extra code for friends, so you can't sell it or anything. Overall, I'm very much looking forward to Tuesday.

Coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on February 25 in North America and February 28 in Europe
Today, Ubisoft announced that Rayman Legends, the critically acclaimed platformer developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, will enter the next generation of gaming on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One across North America on February 25 and in Europe on February 28 2014.

Thanks to the enhanced capabilities of these next-gen consoles, the award-winning graphics of Rayman Legends have been upgraded and the loading time between maps suppressed. Players on both platforms will also get exclusive costumes for Rayman and Globox: Splinter Ray, Ray Vaas and Globox Vaas on Xbox One; and Assassin Ray on PlayStation 4. They will also be able to buy the Funky Ray costume with Uplay points.

Players will also be able to take advantage of exclusive features on each console. The Xbox One version will include 10 exclusive challenges to unlock new time-limited Achievements; while the PlayStation 4 will allow use of the PlayStation 4 controller’s touchpad for actions such as scratching Lucky Tickets, as well as making and sharing screenshots and videos with the community, and using the PlayStation Vita to continue playing the game even with the TV turned off!

In preparation for the launch on next-gen, a browser-based PC demo of Rayman Legends is now available to play online. The demo will feature three different levels from the Rayman universe. Playable maps include Teensies in Trouble, Toad Story and the fan-favorite musical map “Castle Rock.” Play the demo using your Xbox 360 controller or with a mouse and keyboard. To access the demo, please visit: raymangame.com/demo

Rayman Legends is the sequel to the already acclaimed platformer Rayman Origins. In this opus, Rayman and Globox awaken after a 100-year nap that allowed nightmares to infest the Glade of Dreams. The Supreme Being Bubble Dreamer sends them once again on an adventure to fight the evil creatures and restore order in the universe. Rayman Legends features a wide range of gameplay, including traditional Rayman platforming action and new musical, rhythm-based stages. The award-winning team of artists, designers and composers has also returned with an advanced UbiArt engine to include multi-dimension gameplay elements, an improved lighting system and updated game rendering that elevate Rayman’s previous graphics to the next level.

kinda peeved, I was planning to buy this on the marketplace today on xbone, and it's 60 bucks, even though it's 40 everywhere else. tweeted at xbox support and they were like "not our fault, ask the publisher"
surely it has to be an error, charging 50% MORE for a digital release is fucking ludicrous
