Meh, I only go part time, so I'll just post my whole "lolCommunityCollegeGardenVariety" transcript...

    College Algebra: A
    Statistics I: A
    College Writing I: A
    College Writing II: A
    Princ. of Sociology: A
    Princ. of Psycology: A
    Human Biology: A
    Macroeconomics: A
    Intro to Business: A
    Princ. of Marketing: A-
    Princ. of Management: A-
    Application/Concepts: A
    HTML/Dreamweaver: A
    Game Development: A
    Intro to Networking: A
    PC Hardware/Software: A

Those two A minuses piss me the fuck off because they're the result of a final presentation in which two of my group members no-showed on presentation day. And we were a group of three. I still managed to salvage it with a B by winging portions of it without all of the materials. The presentation was 30% of the grade, which is basically means an 85 was 4.5 points off my final grade. The only consolation is, the professor assured me those two fucktards would be taking a zero. The two classes were basically tied together in multiple assignments. Same professor, and they were scheduled back to back.

But yeah, it's been about two and a half years of taking part time classes, starting out with "I'll just take the major classes required" and then jumping around between fun courses, business courses and IT courses and seeing what I like best. Currently planning on going with IT, but nothing ever especially excites me other than the grand ideal of quitting fucking CVS in a glorious manner.

Lined up for four courses next semester, which I guess is a more than fair amount considering I work 40+ hours a week.

The Waste Land by TS Eliot, A Lost Lady by Willa Cather, a shitload of poems by Robert Frost, selected poems from the Harlem Renaissance, Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, and Go Down, Moses by William Faulkner.

Professor decided that since everyone reads Gatsby in high school nowadays that we wouldn't read it, I've never read it so I guess it wasn't really a part of the curriculum where I went to school. It's definitely on my list of things to read when I get the time, especially since I'll be teaching high school English and I'll need to know it.

Ugh, had to read that in 10th grade. Seriously, fuck that book.

Bad enough the story bored me to bits, but I remember the dialogue to be absolute shit to read because the author wrote words the way the characters pronounced them. For example:

    “Lawd,” Pearl agreed, “Ah done
scorched-up dat lil meat and bread too
long to talk about. Ah kin stay ’way from
home long as Ah please. Mah husband
    ain’t fussy.”
“Oh, er, Pheoby, if youse ready to
go, Ah could walk over dere wid
    you,” Mrs. Sumpkins volunteered.
“It’s sort of duskin’ down dark. De
    booger man might ketch yuh.
Basically, I read all of the dialogue with a more shrill version of Wanda Sykes' voice playing in my head.

Since you're going to be teaching High School, let me give you some advice. I'd rather read 500 pages of Chaucer than 5 pages of that damn book.

For my first full-time semester back in school after having to get a full-time job and dropping out for 4 years, I'll take it.

I got an A in the stupid Intro to Computers class I needed to finish my associate degree, which I could have been done with almost three years ago, but I am a dumb ass. Next fall I'm starting at a full university, so that'll be fun.

I liked it, once I got used to the dialect. The first chapter was hell but once I adjusted it wasn't so bad. The only piece of literature I read this semester across all three of my Lit classes that I absolutely could not get into was The Waste Land, and that's because it's so damn confusing with all its references. We read this annotated version with like 75 pages of notes after the damn thing and I still have basically no idea what the hell it was trying to say.

I actually really want to teach The Color Purple if I can. I read that in 10th grade and it's one of my favorite books.

First semester of grad school got roped into research while also teaching 2 labs, grading, and proctoring. Was a huge mix-up but whatever.

    PHY7221 Classical Mech : A
    PHY7241 Quantum Mech I : A
    PHY7999 General Relativity : A

Super not enthused with grad school though. May be ditching out after quals with a masters.

I felt the same way about grad school; after 7 years non-stop of school, I just cut it at a masters. You have to really love what you're doing to get a doctorate.

I do really love what I'm doing, but there's only one faculty member worth working with in my very specific field at my school.

So far working with him has been a pretty meh experience. Nothing like the great research experiences I've had prior. I don't trust this guy as an adviser enough to invest another 4-6 years of my life.

Just means you'll have to come back up to the north-east corridor with all the cool/best people.
