I decided to make a circlejerk thread for all of us Megaten fans.

So since Soul Hackers comes out in a bout a week, and then SMTIV not long after that, I've decided I'm going to try to polish off Strange Journey this next week. Putting everything on the back burner.

God damn this game is tough.

I think I started a SMT general thread a while back but it's probably lost now. SMT IV = all my want, it's one of the many reasons I bought a 3DS.

Still need to finish my new game + for Digital Devil Saga to fight Hitoshura. Too many damn games to play right now though.

Strange Journey is good. Token black guy could be less annoying though. Got to the third area in that before I put it on hold. Boss just repeatedly whoops my ass, and I wasn't in the mood for redoing my entire party just to exploit one bosses' weakpoint.

I JUST got through that northwest portion of Eridanus 1F. Holy shit was that irritating.

Strange Journey is really good. Not much in the way of story but the gameplay is 100% SMT 1/2 corridor grindan.

I'm trying to finish off SMT:SJ because SMTIV has a direct reference to it.

I'm a terrible person. I've played Nocturne twice, got to that sewer with the mannequin-like people both times, and stopped playing when I reached there both times. <_<

I think I got annoyed I couldn't afford all the magatamas and it would have taken a ridiculous amount of grinding to get them.

i stopped there a couple of times when i originally bought the game because i couldn't get past the matador fight past that section. when i restarted last fall i almost gave up there again, but decided to grind it out after some helpful folks here offered some party build suggestions. completely glad i did, eventually finishing the game with the true demon ending was one of the most satisfying endeavors i've ever taken up, as far as videogames are concerned.

wow, and i thought nocturne's warp maze in kagutsuchi was bad, haha.

The Labyrinth of Amala was a fucking nightmare. That part where you have to out run Dante or he fucking one shots you, to name one. 4/5th floor basically = hell.

4 is great, made a lot of improvements. I want to play P4G someday. 3 was pretty meh, I probably wouldn't ever bother to play it again.

Yeah to no one's surprise, my favorite SMT game is III. I love the rest of the series just as much, SMT II is right behind it along with Persona 2, 4, DDS1, etc! I actually still have a lot of games to play including SJ, Raidou series.

I hope they make a new Raidou game soon.

First one was so cheesy, but fun.

Second was fun, and long, but tried too hard to go back to traditional Megaten games.

I still need to play Strange Journey. got frustrated..pretty early on actually.

The only thing that bugs me about SMTIV is that Kazuma Kaneko isn't working on it directly.
