Based off the First Game, But Reworked for China

Contra series is alive in China! In addition to the new game, chinese fans will get Contra (魂斗罗) live-action movie.

First information about the film appeared in the Network in the end of april. Now, we can see conceptual teaser and poster!

The film is being prepared by Beijing Starlit Movie and TV Culture, and the author of the script is Wei Nan, who already has several films on his account. The working title is Contra (魂斗罗). The film's storyline is mainly based on the first Contra. Of course, it was reworked for China's domestic market:

In 1988, a huge meteorite fell on an uninhabited island in the South China Sea. Chen Qiang and Li Zhiyong conducted a meteorite study, but did not find anything suspicious. 29 years later, Chen Qiang sent the Lance and Bill commandos to destroy the criminal grouping "Red Falcon", but the heroes have to meet with another enemy that originated from the alien meteorite ...

Jesus, hearing the music in that teaser trailer took me back. My dad loved Contra when I was like 7 and we eventually beat the game together coop; was a great time. The S football that gave you the spray gun was amazing.
