Probably deserves it own thread maybe, but Steam announced effectively their own version of the Switch.

And it’ll be able to play the entire steam library?
Shits serious. This can be a real game changer.
If it does flop it could however make quite a nifty emulator
Even more than that, it's like a regular PC so you should be able to play games from other libraries like Gamepass, Origin, etc. Also the potential to run emulators.
Yeah by default it's running SteamOS but they've already said you could just wipe it and install Windows or whatever if you wanted.
The prices are steep but the specs are pretty good.
I think the 256 GB NVME model should be ideal, then you can pair it with as many microSD cards as you want for further storage needs.
All the great games I already own on steam, plus a quality platform to run emulators.
I'm pretty happy Nintendo didn't announce a Switch Pro since a mobile steam platform is even better for my use.
I just noticed they have a 48 hour priority reservation window for Steam accounts that have made a purchase prior to June 2021. Such a great way to combat bots so that actual customers can get first priority.
Not a fan of the Apple-like storage prices, but I’m interested. Ever since I got my switch I’ve been part of that crowd who wants everything ported to Switch because it makes it easy to game without being needed to sit in front of my PC/TV, so its perfect for RPGs. This seems to be the perfect answer to that. Not a fan of the pitiful storage though.
Elgato picked a shitty day to announce their new Stream Deck
Pre-orders go live in about 15 minutes, I think I'll grab one of these. Bringing my PC games with me when I travel is a pretty invaluable service.
And.... we crashed the website
I spammed F5 a few seconds before 1PM and it showed available. Reserved the 512 GB model and received the order confirmation to my email. Are they just going to fill the orders of all reservations, or any idea if they have limited quantity at this point?
i dunno about the ergonomics i'd like to get one of these bitches in my hands before buying. but specs grand for the price (tho the 64GB model is kinda miserable) and having access to your PC library on the move is hard to beat.
Got to the purchase screen, been "working" my confirmation for a couple minutes now.
