    My homework HELP ME

Ok this is an open ended discussion (except no bullshit posts please I need this for school). I have a research project on any topic I wanted. So I decided hey why not do "Online gaming for the populace" basically I want to lay out whats the qualities and how it affects our real lives and the community itself that develops. I have been researching for 3 days now and of course all I can find are the negative articles. Crazy Korean guy plays 100000hrs straight and dies boooo online gaming. Anyway some input and of course I will quote it, and definatly wont take credit for the responce's in the paper. After its done I can pm you a copy for anyone that might be interested.

teamwork should be a positive point that these games help teach. that would be a main point if i were to write something like that.

you'll need teamwork in the workplace and the workplace is supposed to be our final destination. teachers love when you're thinking ahead to the day where you work full time.

wow that mothers against video games article is a bit one sided I think. I like the teamwork but I am more wondering about the social aspect. How many of you think it hinders your real world social ability's?

Endo, I think you've found you're topic to go on.

Have you noticed all the articles you find are just negativity in video games? they're all biased/1 sided articles?

Write your topic on about this, Why are they lopsided, why are they giving biased reports, are they getting paid/getting in the ways of "what our parents taught us" etc?

I think you can write a good article on why people blame videogames for everything that goes on, much like in the 30's people blamed their youth's behaviour on books, and the 50's/60's/70's people blamed it on movies.

James dean's movie "Rebel without a Cause" is PERFECT argument for people blaming our entertainment as a negative because they dont agree with it. It was a nice movie too Go watch it hehe.

That is the most unstabilized arguement I have ever seen (first link). They say facts, and things have been proven, however, they don't go and cite their resource(s) which would legitimately prove it.

That typical grades thing is utter bullshit too. Ranked #7 (out of 50) in my class thank you very much -.-; Games don't drive people to crimes and felony. A dumbass with a poor upbringing to be incapable of distinguishing between right and wrong, real and fantasy, is someone who commits crimes and felonies.

What I can't help but wonder is how many people in such a protest are actually poor mothers/fathers with juvenile children. They're trying to pass the blame onto something as a scapegoat when the real problem is right smack-dab in front of their face they don't even realize it.

    It's called Denial marcatil

The parents wonder how can their kids be so wild & crazy! Dear lord, my children are enjoying something, we must put a stop to this!!!

The parents see their 14 year old sons acting like a normal 14 year old (rebellious, they're in the phase between adult & child, they want to stand their own grounds on things yet are still being treated liek a kid, etc), it's normal to be a frigging kid, but because the kid is attatched to something they like, the parents blame it.

The parents dont want to blame themselves for not being able to support their kids properly, because that would make them a bad parent now wouldnt it? And you dont want to be known as the bad parent now do you?

Of course it's the games fault for my son's reactions & not my fault whatsoever.

Of course it's not my fault that I'm buying my child M15+ Rated games! It's the gaming companies that are at fault! How dare they create these games that are M rated! How dare they let my child like these games so I have to buy them & have something to blame.

I know and it pisses me off. They act like they were never a kid once, and never rebelled against their parents. While they may say punishment was more strict, that doesn't dispute the fact they still acted like a total brat at times while a kid.

Write about how MMORPG's are an escape from reality like crack except more addicting.

27 years of life would be validated by [The inscription reads: "In accordance with the ancient wyrmal pact, may the bane be lifted from thy forbidden artifact." This prayer is necessary in purifying a cursed mask].

No, my life's not fucked up at all. Get writing.

The one thing I noticed from the research I have done is that none of articles trashing the game have any type of substantial proof. I do have that one article though that supports the idea that video games do not have a direct psychological effect on people who commit crimes. This does have proof direct from govt websites which is lovely. My personal opinion is that Video Games of any kind obviously affect the type of life a person leads, but as does everything else. If you are into sports memoribilia you probably watch a ton of sports. Do any of you think that MMO's have a direct reflection on the weight problem in the USA (not to exclude other country's but we are FAT FAT FAT)

It depends on the person I guess.

Endo, you know I'm on FF alot, I've played since Dec. 2003 (back when I was 15 holy crap!!) and I was 150lbs back then.
    It's September 2005 and I'm a whopping 152lbs. (I'm 5'7" and male btw)

But then again you know I'm active in sports and all that, I know it's different in other people because it's tougher for adults to play sports or excercise because they don't have the time due to the fact that they probably have a job and family.

Also one of my unwritten rules when I marathon play video games on the weekend. (hehe you know, 12+ hours ).
One meal and one snack onry!! No overeating! And I can drink all the water I want!! yay water!

However, that's just me, I set standards for myself and live by them.

It is possible Endo, I notice from personal experience my wieght fluctuates <sp> (I can't spell for crap any more ; There are times when I get caught up in events on this game, that I don't have time to go out and excercise for weeks at a time (I know it's sad, leave me alone ._.) I guess actually, they weigh gaining would depend on the person, if they do play MMO's what kinda food do they eat? Do they take 20 minute breaks to run to MacDonalds, or do they take a break and make a decent home cooked meal? How would the weight of two ppl compared to vary?

Haha, I will admit sometimes I do get caught up in FFevents.
I never schedule my RL around FF though, There are days when I've missed gods, dynamis, and CoP static (gawd I caught so much hell for that) just to go out with my RL friends because that's what I feel I should do.
