Stolen items

I had a behemoth knife+1 stolen yesterday by some guy (it doesn't sell for shit, so I gambled it and won a Mercurial Kris). Naturally the guy disconnected, I contacted a GM and he opened a stolen items thingy. Logged on today and there was a message from a GM saying they have the item back and they'll give it to me as soon as I log on.

What's more, it took about 2 minutes for them to reply to the GM call.

This has made me happy. I'm impressed - maybe GM's are getting better?

GMs can return stolen items even if the thief deletes them from the inventory but they can't help me get back a lu shang's rod i accidentally dropped instead of a fish at 4am.

Let's put it this way. Stolen items are part of a GM's daily workload and have been forever. Abj's are something you have to take up with the dev team but they seem pretty damn set on keeping the numbers of abj wearing people small.

And maybe on your server they bot and claim everything but the JPN HNMLS's have been on a downhill slide for almost a year and a half now, only really showing up on Fridays and Saturdays NA and even then on our server the rarely win pull.

Items being stolen is a problem created by the players. If someone is silly enough to let other people take their items then they can't really blame anyone but themselves for the loss. Yes, it's sad that people are petty enough to steal items, but it happens and it can't be helped. SquareEnix CAN fix numerous other problems such as the way a lot of endgame is either monopolised or isn't worth the effort.

It's not very hard to figure out what they consider proof... The have logs of past chats and if they see that the trade was made and it was stipulated that the person whill return the item and neglects to (even after he/she said yes) then that is proof enough.
