    CoP script?

So last night I finally beat Promathia. Unfortunately I was late for KB so i had to spam through the cutscene. As I was spamming through this sweet looking cutscene I realized just about every CoP mission Ive done has been time sensitive and I've had to spam through. I plan on going back to the goblin footprint for this one, but I was wondering if anyone had a link to the CoP storyline script so I can read wtf is going on before watching the final cutscenes for my ring.

PS - I know its coming from 100 people so im just gonna do it for you LOL@CoP

    Thanks
    -Sleek

    CoP:

    Emptiness what is it?
    Oh no! Emptiness
    Oh no! + Diabolos
    Oh no! + Bahamut
Oh no! the end of the world
    Oh no! + Magecite
    Oh no! + More Bahamut
Oh no! + more random crap involving mother crystals.
    Oh no! + Promethia (sp?)
    Yay! Get your ring!
    +
Oh no! some more crap including more Bahamut
    Yay! Get your earring!

I thought the CoP story was kinda lame though, I also thought most of the zilart story wasn't so hot either.

Nothing like the old school FF epics, battling evil christmas decorations, emperors, goddesses, space men, trees and clowns.

The problem I have with these stories is that they really are 3rd party views. Your character really isn't changing in anyway and there are no real interpersonal relationships that change as well. It's just a chicken little meets rambo type story that is pretty, but hardly engaging.

Storywise, FFXI (no expansion) picks up at Mission5ish... CoP at mission 3ish and Zilart I just don't remember... I'd probably say towards the end when it's not just random BCNMs and pop monsters...

You can always view those CS again by examining/trading something to the goblin footprints in the zone.

As for the "nothing really happens when you complete missions" thing with this game... SE should really fix that. I've played a few other games where actions of players directly effected entire servers.

Unlocking a new race (not applicable to FFXI)

Unlocking a new job or "class": That they could do. Let the new job quest be unlocked when an LS completes a special event, award a special item or title to that LS. However, the job quests are then available to everyone.

Widespread events due to player actions: Landscape of an area changing due to an LS defeating some mob.

I dunno. The player actions in this game aren't far reaching. Not by a long shot. Sure... we get outposts. Those weren't always there. There was a time when the only method of getting anywhere was teleport spells and airships. Yeah, the warp taru gets stolen and returned in 10 minutes.

The only player event I remember having an effect on the server was a Christmas(?) event they had with the six treants roaming the newbie zones. Upon defeating all of them, outposts were unlocked for the server.

That's one scenario in all the years this game has been out.

Hell, they could have an event where you assist in building a new outpost-type thing (say... in Aht Urghan areas). You have to defend the construction from mobs, help supply items, etc. (That idea is blatantly ripped from another game btw )

He already said he was going to re-examine those footprints. And player events having a real impact on the server is always neat. If anyone is an old school EQ player back when there were only 2 expansions, the first time someone woke the sleeper or the first time you saw an entire NPC army of giants actually march into the dwarven city and fight (like besieged but actually marching from one zone to another) had quit an impact on me.

The outpost idea would be really cool, I guess garrison is somewhat like this but the attendance and participation is so low, I dont think they would do this again.
