    computer troubles >.<

k, reformatted and installed xp, when i try to get into windows, it freezes at the loading screen. >.< that little cocksucking blue bar just stops and thats it. tried completely reformatting again and its doing the same thing. i was able to login safe mode but didnt see anything wrong(not that id really know what to look for). any help is greatly appreciated. i would take it to a computer shop but i dont think i can afford it atm(football gameday fun orz).

ill try to give as much info as i can:
had my sister buy a student edition of xp. this is what i had installed b4... its the full version, just cheaper than shit for students(5$ lol) at the university. this time, it came w/ 2 cd's. it doesnt say disc 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 or anything. i attempted to install the cd that says miscrosoft windows xp pro w/ service pack 2. this is the one that freezes at the windows loading screen. the other disc says microsoft windows xp pro x64 edition. im not sure what this is, lewlz. i havnt attempted to reformat again and try the 2nd disc... what should i do here? format and try the 2nd or do i need to do them both? ^^;; last time i had gotten a copy of xp from her, it was only one disc and i lost it long ago so i cant compare.

other than that, im not sure what info u might need. please ask about any info u need to help me get this fixed. any and all help is greatly appriciated. thank you.

    Yo slut ;p

Ok, to start with you shouldn't have WinXP Pro - if they are student editions they usually state MS XP Student Edition. However, that shouldn't create a problem in itself unless they are copies.

Does CD have a reflective holgram on the non-read face?

If you are not running a 64-bit CPU (AMD64 etc) I'd keep that to one side - you won't be needing it.

If the disk is genuine, and isn't damaged - have you added any new hardware or opened the side panel at all?

yeah, it has hologram etc. it came from the university bookstore. it says student media and all that crap on it. i havnt put any new hardware in the computer in probably over a year if not more. the side of the computer is open bc i had overclocked my vidcard for better ffxi graphics and it was slightly overheating so i had it open and pointed a house fan on it, lol. having the side of the case open wouldnt freeze me at the loading screen, would it? it never did b4 and ive had it like that for 4+months. any other ideas? i dont understand y its freezing at the loading screen when i havnt done anything to it at all.

    /cry lol

How are you starting over, what command are you using to format the drive?

Thinking about it hardware issues would make the PC restart rather than that blue bar.
Let me know the command u used to format - also in the meantime try booting up with no USB or network cables plugged in.

i had gone to repair or recover and it took me to the old dos looking black screen and i did: format c: then after reboot i did format partition and install, etc. i talked w/ someone from kinzuru and they suggested that i delete all partitions and go from therre, instead of doing the format c: ill give that a try and make sure that i dont have anything plugged into usb.

If you can boot fine into safe mode it's not likely a licensing issue or anything of that nature. It's probabably a third party driver or piece of hardware that windows doesn't like that's causing the system to halt the startup process.

The first thing to try in this case is (as was mentioned) unplug all peripherals except keyboard and see if it boots (and use a PS2 keyboard if you can). Often times external USB devices such as pen drives, HDDs or even mice can cause Windows to halt on boot. If that doesn't do it go to device manager and see if there are any issues with drivers or hardware conflicts (it's pretty unlikely in XP but you never know). If you reformatted once already it's not going to do you much good to do so again, assuming it was done properly to begin with.

ok, deleted the partition, made a new one, formatted it, installed windows. gave me the same problem. tried starting up w/ everything unplugged except a ps2 keyboard, still froze. lol, looks like i forgot to mention that after the first reboot after format/installation, i get the blue screen of death w/ driver corruption error messages w/ about 34minutes left on the windows setup. i havta manually shut it down and when i turn it back on, it restarts the setup and goes through the rest of the way from there. argh, this is so fucking frustrating >.<

Well, you might want to try a different cd of XP as there may just be a bad driver on there, but that's reaching. Try starting up with VGA only mode from the F8 boot menu. If it boots fine that would definitely tell you it's the video card driver that's causing the startup issue. Once you get into the system try to download whatever latest video card drivers you can, or maybe try to swap out a video card from another system if it's an integrated device you can't find drivers for.
