10,000 Days

It's a really good album, I got it the day it came out and it's still in my CD player. Number 1, 2, 4, 5, 8 and 9 are just awesome.

Little late for a topic I think. The album was alright, I didn't think it was anything special though. Vicarious and 10,000 Days (Wings Pt 2) were my only favorites on it, didn't care much for The Pot.

In other news, I found a torrent for the new Deftones album yesterday.

10,000 days will only grow on ya JP, it's really good.

Listen carefully on track 7 & 8 (Lost Keys, Rosetta Stoned), lots of stuff to trip you out lol.

I was really dissapointed by lateralus... something about the CD just didnt click with me the way Undertow and Aenima did.
TBH it was like buying some yuppy new age book that had the narriator sing it instead of read it.

I'm really liking 10,000 days though.

I don't totally understand how you can dislike Lateralus but like 10,000 Days, but everyone has different tastes.

Is that going to make me enjoy the album more? Because I'm pretty sure I've gotten all of the enjoyment out of it that I can for myself. I just didn't get any where near as much out of it as Undertow, Aenima or Lateralus. I find myself going back to these albums fairly often, but I have almost no desire to listen to 10,000 Days any more.

The lead in track to Rosetta stoned...I like the guitar alot. Still hoping these guys are coming around in bigger venues on a tour...their show is a fucking religious experience.

Noone has mentioned Opiate yet, odd. It's a personal favorite.

Little trivia - it was a live recording of maynard pointing out a heckler in the crowd of an early performance. Neat.

Random;

4 Degrees (Aenima) is the temp. difference between a vagina and an anus.

Maynard was recruited as the bands vox after the guitarist heard him screaming at his neighbors and found his voice to be powerful.

The contorshonist (how the fuck do you spell that?) on Aenima is a woman, not a man.

The audio clip on track 6 of the above album is an answering machine message left for Maynard after kicking out a roommate.

The opening audio of Undertow is the sound of a scuba diver in distress.
